Fantastic. It is amazing the difference. I know its been 70 years, but you would never guess that there had ever been such massive fighting and destruction.

I loved all the pics. Americans tend to tear down and build new buildings. Sometimes photos are necessary to prove history. I have always wished there were a lot more early American photos. Too bad it took so long for the camera to be invented. Paintings will have to do for most of history.

My house was originally built in 1887 and added to over time. I wish I could see old photos of how it looked in the past and learn stories of how and why it was modified. I know it was upgraded to install indoor plumbing, add electricity and upgrade the electrical. Most of our downtown has been there almost since the town was founded. I'd like to learn more of the history behind these structures. Too many people today live in houses that have been built less than 50 years ago. I had lived in a farm house that was built about 1900. It finally got to the point that needed repairs would cost more than scraping the house and putting up a modular home. The modular was nice but it's not the same as the construction of old homes.
