Another infected ship wants to land in Florida just what kind of moron would board one and why should we risk letting them land.
We need to issue an absolute ban on these ships from entering our waters.

I agree. This is also a knock on bigger and bigger and bigger cruise ships. If they were smaller they would be a smaller problem when troubles occur. Smaller ships also have smaller overhead. Paying to keep these mega ships idle has to be crushing these companies and their bankers.

The way ships are built there literally home to all kinds of nasty bugs and v***s with crews from the poorest countries with dubious hygiene zi can't think of a better place to get sick.

I have never been on a cruise. My wife has been on many and has tried for 3 decades to get me to go with her. Hey I can get drunk and overeat at home. The only ones I have seen that interest me are those Viking river cruises in Europe. However they are much more expensive. Maybe in a year if things calm down and I can scrape a few dollars together. Europe might be worth seeing then.

I like smaller boats. I went on a 40 ft sail boat for 3 hr tour, which was great. I missed Gilligan and the Skipper.

I went on a guess you would call it a tour boat in Germany on the rine river whuch is lined with old castles. Boat was probably 100 ft long didn't cost to much.

From what I've heard of large cruise ships the stops at various destinations are quick and you do not get a good flavor of where you have been. Most of the experience is on board the ship. On your Germany river cruise did you get to actually experience Germany and it's people ?

I flew their spent about a week their and then drove to Denmark that was cool after a few houres driving I rounded a corner and there was a f**g man in the distance and in front of him was a huge car ferry he stoped me and the next thing a train crosses the road and right onto the ferry ,I was next and when we landed in Denmark it was only minutes and that train drove off.
On the cruise we stoped in a couple of places one was a castle and got to mingle with people.
One thing I'll tell you about cruise ships in Greece at a big tourist site I met two nurses that were from a cruise ship they were offered a tour of the ruins for almost 350 bucks.
They were smart got off the ship took cab for 6 bucks and paid 20 bucks each to get in .
I traveled from the Cz republic to Italy for 100 bucks air fair. I rented a car In Venice and drove to Pompeii, after that dumped the car got on a car ferry and sailed to greese that was about 230 bucks spent 3 days relaxing on beach drinking beer, and caught a bus for the next city ware I could rent a car and drove to Athens. The entire trip I stayed in air Bob and loved it. I always stayed away from tourist ware I stayed I would be suround by locals.
Greeks are real friendly and even when they know you don't understand them ,they will still talk you ear off. If you spot a young one ask your questions as most speek good English.

Now that sounds like a cruise I would like. I am not much of a foreign traveler and I likely would need somebody to hold my hand in those countries. My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Aruba. The best times I had were when I got away from the tourist traps. We rented a moped and when all around the Island.

I remember some locals tried to assist us, but I had bad vibes and quickly ditched them. I had a sailboat lesson with a crazy kid who I swore was suicidal. He kept steering towards big power boats that seemed they would cut our little boat in half. He said " Screw them, they have to get out of our way. " And they always did.

It's fear and perhaps some ignorance talking there. With a good sensible quarantine effort and repeated testing these people are less threat to Floridians than the people walking around. Florida has a very rude few weeks coming.

And hey, take those ships and use them as recovery beds for people recovering during a possibly infectious period...stage them through levels of safeness.

Those ships are far to dirty and don't have the ventilation systems to do that the only way I would agree to it would for them agreeing to ground their fleet

To get around I used my garmin GPS and bought the maps for Europe befor I left.
They have good signs in public places in Spain they had stop painted on the streets by stop signs that were Spanish,
When I toured Rome its was sad to see tourist flocking McDonalds and places to get American pizza. . We stayed about 10 miles south not a sign of a tourist.
I'm getting old but wish to make the trip one more time spending a little more time in the Cz republic and greese greek islands ,hopefully Turkey

Thank you. Right now I am laid off and I might take SS at the end of this year, I don't know yet. Traveling is always next year with me. Maybe next year might really become next year.

I have a couple of nieces who spent a lot of time in Europe while in and after college and they would help me out if I need it. Money and my wife are my limitations. My wife's idea of a cruise is one of those ships currently looking for a port, of course without the v***s. Although we both have ancestry from Ireland and or Scotland, so perhaps before we die, we could do that.

We have passports, but not the new License IDs. Would that be good enough.
