Oh, the things you find in the Patent Offices of the world....

So, we have the Patent issued to the British Pirbright Institute for one "novel" C****av***s (that is, deliberately modified Common Cold V***s) -- V***s "L" presumably, Prince Philip's Filthy. Mean-Spirited Behest to the World, and, here we have another, earlier version, patented to the US Government, presumably V***s "S" --- both identified in China as part of the current outbreak.

Mere words do not express my irritation, could not possibly convey my ire.

These rotten-malignant-d********g-deplorable-sick-pathetic-excuses-for-rat-s**t-morons have done this to try to cover their tracks and find an excuse to send people pathetic little settlement "offers" for their claims against the UNITED STATES, INC., bankruptcy, disguised as "help" to offset the ravages of a "global p******c" scare ginned up by the same-useless-stupid-corrupt-nasty-inexcusable-selfish-disloyal-dishonorable-maggots.

Take the bankers out and kick the ever-loving crap right out of them. Now!

It is standard practice to patent any organism that is isolated and found to be unique. In the event that some commercial application might be found in the future, it could prove valuable. (This patent is held by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)).

The patent, found here, http://stateofthenation.co/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/US7220852-1.pdf does not indicate in any way that the v***s was invented. The use of the term 'invention', is standard wording on patents and in this case, is overridden by its description as an isolate. It was, Provisional application No. 60/465,927, filed on Apr. 25, 2003, when the SARS epidemic was taking place. The patent has nothing to do with the current epidemic but I imagine a patent will be filed by someone on that one too.

Sici, this crap does nothing but prod fear and distrust. There is nothing unusual about this patent nor is there anything out of the ordinary. It has nothing to do with what is happening now and it does not indicate any malevolent intent on the part of anyone.

CDC claims ownership of v***s

And I do. This information has been around since the 70s. Not for this particular bug but they've been doing it regularly for decades. These bugs have been patented by businesses, universities and the government. They don't patent bioweapons. They like to keep those things secret.
