We sent our kids to a christian school for both the elementary as well as the high school years as well at a great expense to both there mother and myself. They should offer tax credits to those parents that want something better for their children than public indoctrination camps.👍👍👍👍👍
What about people who have no children? Or people whose children have grown and moved out? Since they don't have anyone in school, should they also get a tax credit?

Yes let the property taxes pay for public education only. No kids no taxes. If you chose to send your kids to either private or parochial schools no property taxes at least for the school portion anyway.
they have so much buried in those property taxes it isn't funny.

The response to "no kids, no axes" is that the community (and country) at large benefit from having educated children; I believe that falls under the 'general welfare' heading.
Nothing in my property taxes is 'buried': My receipt tells me exactly what percentages are allocated to different areas.

The property taxes are due each January, then each property owner is automatically on the hook for so called 'school tax'. That's the case in the New York and, to my knowledge, in all surrounding States.
When your kids leave the K-12 system you pay for their college AND the K-12 school tax as well. No vouchers ever, in either case.
When your kids get a job, they have to start paying both the property tax AND the K-12 school tax (owning or renting), along with their Parents.
This "system" ensures, by definition, a waste of human and material resources, reducing the education of our young ones to a mere "self esteem" enhancement, much to the clamor of the parent taxpayer.
They just want to get their money's worth, no wonder! Everybody must get a trophy or else, what??

Where I'm from the property taxes are due twice a year. Once in May then again in November.
