Steve Scalise: Pelosi’s impeachment ‘obsession’ will prove costly for Dems in November

Democrats gained a majority in the House of Representatives in the 2018 e******n cycle, largely by flipping suburban districts that have historically trended Republican.
Yet, as Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) explained in a recent television interview, many of those who are now seeking re-e******n have failed to deliver the moderate agenda they promised — and Scalise believes that there are going to be serious consequences in November, Breitbart reports.
Scalise sounds off
“I’m telling you — you’ve seen it in the polling, where people, swing v**ers are furious with this,” the House Minority Whip told Pirro Fox News personality Judge Jeanine Pirro.
He added: “And they’re asking, especially all of those Democrats who ran two years ago, saying they were going to be different. They were going to work across the aisle, work with everybody, v**e against Pelosi.”
The congressman went on to allege that “every one of them is a puppet for Pelosi.”
“And they’re being asked in their swing districts, ‘What have you been doing and why haven’t you been focusing things that matter to me like lowering prescription drugs, like working with the other parties to build infrastructures and secure the border?'” Scalise added.
Moderates in peril
“None of those things are happening because of this obsession Pelosi has had with impeachment,” Scalise went on to complain. “It actually cost them a Democrat when Jeff Van Drew switched parties to Republican because he had enough with this impeachment.”
Pirro then brought up the 31 House districts in which T***p w*n in 2016, but which are now being represented by Democrats.
“Isn’t Pelosi worried about them?” she asked. “And how are they going to fare in the next e******n? Because they’re up in 2020 also.”
Scalise, for his part, was skeptical about their future given that Pelosi made them “walk the plank” on impeachment and follow “the AOC far-left wing of the Democrat Party.”
“The bottom line is, those swing district Democrats really don’t have anything to go back home and say they’ve done except harass and try to impeach a president,” the congressman opined.
When Pirro asked whether Congress could now “start working on things for the American people,” Scalise expressed doubt that Pelosi would be willing “to move on.” He’s certainly not holding his breath.

Pelosi and the Democratic majority in the House did exactly what they were sent there to do, hold your I***t Pumpkinfuhrer accountable for his crimes. The districts that swung did so because educated suburban woman despise the loudmouth predator and they won’t stand by and watch their daughters be robbed of their reproductive rights. As far as doing their jobs, they passed loads of good legislation that is sitting on Moscow Mitch’s desk gathering dust.
