SWMBO is short for She Who Must Be Obeyed, which is the title of a H Ryder Haggard novel. In my case, however, it is a term I use when teaching people how to train their dogs. I always tell them that once the dog knows what the command means then the dog must obey the command immediately if the dog is to earn your praise and sometimes a dog treat. Personally I wish that parents would treat their children that way so that the kids did not throw temper tantrums when told to make their beds, put their dirty clothes in the hamper or take out the garbage.
