There are numerous sources spouting conflicting stories...

To date my city is v***s free...

But my complex is discussing quarantine...

We are 80% university teachers and have another month before we need to go back to work...

I am currently outside the city...

But will be returning in two days...

They are considering a full blockade five days from now...

I'm less than supportive of this...

It will require 10% of my complex to skip work... And 10% to refrain from returning early for the next semester...

I'm also less than happy about the number of advertisements turning up on my phone for "cures"...

There are times when the internet and social media can really much things up...

For all those who may have concerns... My family and I are fine... And look forward to the next few day of new year... We expect that this will die out in about three weeks...

The problum is there are no immunities to counter new v***s' and with travel much more common now than 101 years ago the spread could be rampant, so it's best to be safe and lock down contaminated cities.

CD, in what city do you live and work? When you say your complex, do you mean your apartment/housing complex?

I hope for your sake, and that of your family, you are correct and that it will die down. From the reports I am reading, the numbers are increasing pretty dramatically, and that is not considering the up to 10 day incubation period. Best wishes.

Kyle Inconvenient it is, no doubt, but take no changes... How would you feel if any of your family got it??

Why do you think it will die out in 3?weeks? Are you being told the t***h about how many ( hundreds) have contracted it or is it really thousands?? Are people dropping while standing outside to be whisked away bye in white Camouf**ge pick them up as they are showing on TV??

Blown out of proportion? No...

The government is responding well...

But I could do without the hysteria...

Official numbers are over a thousand confirmed cases... But plenty of potential cases being reported as well...

I have only seen one video of someone dropping on the street... But the v***s affects people differently...

Just got word of a confirmed case in my city...

Headed home tomorrow... Then will wait out the v***s...

The three week number is based off of different sources... It's my own estimate...

My family are all well... And will continue to be so... Thanks for the concern...

We have two confirmed cases here now, One in my state, the other in Washington~~ 22 other states under watch as of yesterday..

Glad I keep a supply of food at home... Non-perishables... Get laughed at at times... But just common sense to me..

Keep alert...

Happily my complex includes a dozen doctors, a judge, the president of the university, and about a dozen other leaders of various departs... We will have priority

Stay strong....

I have a food storage as well.. It is important to have for wh**ever reason..

Grateful for your other homeowners there!! Yes, presumably that helps~~

Just hope they can get it under control for everyone’s sake!!! I understand Scientist are working feverishly for an Antidote, but so far, not good..

I hope you're correct about the 3 weeks. I'm so glad to hear that you are safe! I wonder, if you go into the city to work and the city is locked down would you then be unable to return to your home?
On a personal note, one of my daughters works for a Chinese owned company in suburban Chicago. There were a number of Chinese nationals in visiting for year end reports. We're all hoping that none of them were infected. I have read there is an approximate 2 week incubation. So I guess well see in the next few days if anyone at her work becomes ill.
