Park apologizes for pig bungee stunt
Chinadaily..

A theme park in Chongqing apologized on Sunday for taking a pig bungee jumping after netizens said the park was abusing animals.

In a video that went v***l online, a heavy pig dressed in a cape was pushed off the bungee platform.

It couldn't move, and its four limbs were tied with cords. During every dive, it screamed harshly, as did the audience.

The pig was about 100 kilograms and was pushed from a height of 68 meters. The park did it to promote the opening day of its bungee program on Saturday, an unnamed staff member of the park told ThePaper.cn.

He also said they were just testing the facility, and that the pig's fall is a good omen for the price of pork. As statistics show pork prices rose about 42 percent last year, this indicated it would drop this year, he said.

He refused to accept the blame for animal abuse and said the pig looked "very calm" from beginning to the end.

He did apologize, however, for the park's ill-conceived promotion idea and added the pig has since been sent to the "safety" of the butcher.

It's a term given to members of the population who make their voices heard via the internet...

They are hugely powerful over here...

How is it you keep up with so much of what is going on in China? Who are you?
What are you?

I am a Canadian expat living in northern China...(near the border of Russia...Siberia..)

I have been here for sixteen years and speak the language fluently... (I have completed a bachelor's degree done completely in Chinese...And am now finishing my master's...Also done completely in Chinese...)

I subscribe to several Chinese, Taiwanese, and Hongkongese media providers... (and I often use the stories within to contrast what is being stated by the government, or the Western MSM..)

I am a husband and a father... My wife is Chinese... And my daughter currently holds "dual" citizenship...

I am an avid sportsman.. I enjoy tennis, badminton, swimming, and weightlifting...

I enjoy reading... Poetry, science fiction, fantasy, and historical romances are my favorites...

I am a Conservative... Although the term may differ from your understanding, as Canada and America seem to have different definitions of the classification..

I am a Christian... Came to the faith about two decades ago...

By profession I am a teacher... Currently employed at a university... But I prefer working with children... More potential...

I tend to drink more than I should... I love both beer and wine... And rarely say no to JD

I am a Trump supporter.. And have great affection for my southern (American) brethren...

I have no ability to comprehend PC... I honestly cannot understand it... But believe strongly in civility...

I cannot think of anything else at the moment... But it is late and I'm tired...

Stay strong... God bless...

Chinese people are smart. I read several years ago that the Chinese invented to first water clock. Then there's Wan Hu, the guy that put 47 rockets on his chair to go into space. His theory was at least rooted in logic; enough rockets can move a man forward.
He evidentially didn't think it through though, cuz after the smoke cleared, tHu guy and the chair were gone!
Looks like this bungee guy didn't do enough thinking too!

Thank you, I had at one time pinpointed you as a missionary but then I became confused. I shall read your posts with a different mindset in the future. I still don’t understand the path you’ve chosen but have more respect.

The Chinese also created the Japanese alphabet...something I learned living in Japan.
