Zechariah 5: Flying Scroll cover is actually an ICBM "Fire Offering"/Judgment from God

You're probably more familiar with the details of these prophecies than I am, Peewee, but they certainly seem more relevant on a daily basis now.

“Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might” (Jeremiah 49:35)

There is another prophecy concerning Iran that possibly precedes the Gog and Magog scenario outlined by Ezekiel 38-39. In Jeremiah 49:34-39, we are told that Elam will come under the judgement of God for conspiring to launch an attack against Israel in the “latter days”. Modern day Iran is comprised of ancient Elam (about one-tenth) and Persia. This prophecy concerning Iran has not yet been fulfilled but seems to align with Iran’s current nuclear aspirations! Let's see the prophecy in Jeremiah 49:35-39...

35 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

Jeremiah predicts that Elam will be struck at the foremost place of its strength. Today, this could infer an attack upon Iran's growing nuclear program. One of Iran’s most strategic and vulnerable nuclear targets is the Bushehr nuclear reactor, located in the heart of ancient Elam.

Jeremiah also predicts that Iran will suffer the fate of a broken bow. When your bow is broken, you cannot load the arrows from out of your quiver, or in a modern sense, the missiles out of your silo. This might imply that the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) will be unable to launch scores of its missiles (arrows in modern warfare are missiles) at its enemies.

Zechariah 5:3 – Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth.

‘Every thief shall be expelled,’ according to this side of the scroll; and,

‘Every perjurer shall be expelled,’ according to that side of it.”

The word for earth, Eretz (Strong’s 776) applies not just to the whole earth, but usually and in particularly a land. In this context, it would be the Land of Israel. This flying megillah or roll, known as a curse, will head straight for the Land of Israel. Israel will feel the wrath of God’s judgment first. Will this dual staged missile then head toward other countries in the world? Their judgment will be one of cleansing, to rid the lands of the thieves and perjurers.

What is the major trend in the meaning of the Book of Zechariah: the restoration of the Land of Israel and the rebuilding of the Temple of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To make such preparation, the people in the land must be behind the restoration and the building of the temple. Lip service will not do. Their hearts, minds and souls must there. If you are not a part of the eschatological rebirth of God’s land at the time of the end, don’t hang around. If you do, some strange things are going to happen.

Let us assume that in the preparation at the time of the end, a true revival and preparation in the Land of Israel is made to consecrate the Priesthood, the Temple foundation will be laid, and the city of modern Jerusalem will be outlined as to where the purification process with the ashes of the Red Heifer will concentrate.

Let us now assume that a call is sent out throughout the world to support the preparation for the return and the rebuilding of the Temple. With so much money involved, bribery, governmental graft and institutional theft will assume to be rampant. The money lenders, the international bankers, the international brokers of political power in the UN will all want a part of this pot. This call will be for all religions to participate in a city of Peace where all can worship to the God of their choosing; the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the triune God of Orthodox Christianity, and Allah, the deity of Islam.

In any way, this flying Megillah scroll will have writing on it that must have been unusually large or the curse by the flying roll must have implied a significant meaning. Does this signify the magnitude of the curse that was being placed?

Of the two curses, the thief is usually recognized as an offender against man, (eighth commandment in the Decalogue – Exodus. 20:15) and the perjurer, or swearing falsely (third commandment – Exodus 20:4) as an offense against God.

More and more we are seeing people, who proclaim that they are agents of God. They produce large followings of people who usually are following the charismatic leaders not the Person, which this leader purports to represent. They are leaders following their own selfish desires, producing TV programs, radio broadcasts and large church institutions for their own glory. Many will even speak for the Lord and invoke that they received their messages direct from the Lord in vision or in dreams. These that swear falsely by the name of God will find literal and spiritual destruction. The hopes of millions of evangelical Christians who are pinning their hopes on the restoration of Israel and their rapture before this event will spiritually collapse.

For the “spiritual Israelite”, these words must be sobering words. They may seek to deny that the Hebrews will be involved at all in the time of the end, yet see a literal and progressive role of Israel and Jerusalem as becoming the threshing floor for sorting out the good and evil in the world. Some ‘spiritual Israelites’ consider themselves as being literal Israelites, and as such, beware. To speak falsely against the children of Israel also speaks falsely against the God of Israel. As such, they may come under the wrath of the Lord.

A literal nuclear attack against Israel will have an unprecedented cataclysmic spiritual impact on Christians around the world.

A true literal translation will imply that this twin nuclear warhead will wipe out and consume the home, the timbers and stone from within its midst.

Hashem (“The Name”), as the Lord of hosts, will set out to purify the land. The Land of Israel must be purified to prepare itself for the return of the Holy One.

When will this happen, do we ask? Well, in this verse, it is still in the future, for the Lord of host states, “I will send”, or “It shall enter” or “It shall remain.”

Michael Rood, a messianic rabbi made this commentary about the flying Megillah scroll:

Rabbi Michael Rood: - “The container in which this mass of lead and fire offering is placed is 34.3 feet long and 5.5 feet in diameter. It flies. It will completely consume the homes of the disobedient in the land of Israel – including all of the wood and the stones. This fire offering is evil and it is encased in lead. That, my friends, is a missile with a nuclear warhead poised to strike the land of Israel."

"Here the word “wickedness” is a general word, which also encompasses the moral, religious and secular or civil evil that remains in the Land of Israel. With the return of the Jews in the time of Zechariah, many of the returnee Jews did not have their hearts aligned with the will of God (Hashem). So today, even after 1948, with the return of the Jews from all the lands of the world, a large secular segment of Jewish society do not adhere to any form of halakhah, or Torah observance, and some are ardent haters of Israel."

"This land is set to be purged and cleansed of wickedness and evil.”

Soon is my best guess. God controls the time clock and that has a lot to do with Israel.

TexaCan, you would surely be a better teacher than I.

So you're having springtime for half a season? That sounds great, enjoy every minute of it while it lasts. It's a blessing that it benefits your physical well being, as well.

It's been fairly warm here the last few days, meaning lows in the 30s instead of teens at night, and highs during the day into the 40s and even a few 50s, which in January is manna from heaven.

I first read about the Hebrew word "Ishshah" meaning either a woman or a fire offering several years ago on a messianic Rabbi's website, and I couldn't believe that since the U.S. Military began developing ICBMs initially in 1954 to 1966, this now clearer understanding of Zechariah's 5th chapter has not been more widely disseminated sixty plus years later.

It's always been obvious that "a woman in a basket" does not edify in relation to the remainder of the text, but until a weaponized military missile was a reality, past generations had no clue as to its meaning, chalking it up as a required eternal mystery.

The 1st time I read the Bible through (age of nine - 4th grade), it made no sense to have a woman in a basket under a lead covering, being flown around by two women with stork like wings, whereas in Revelation, you are given a "heads up" - if something is symbolic rather than literal.

It's really timely to understand what is meant as it refers to a missile attack from Iran (who have been chanting "death to America"), since 1979, just as they are now honing in on nuclear warheads for their missiles.

I have an underdeveloped website with my own domain purchased two years ago, strictly for my own edification and amusement.

It's a mode of self expression, a learning facility, rather than teaching, and without feedback.

Through the Holy Spirit, the Bible always informs, instructs, trains, blesses, nurtures, corrects, and certainly sometimes surprises, for our God does provide feedback, big time.

God, Himself, is much more engaging and personable in all His Grandeur and Holiness than most of us who worship and, in faith, try to emulate Jesus Christ, He with whom He gifted us as our example for living, as our Propitiary sacrifice stamping our sin debt paid-in-full, our death sentence fully pardoned, and our reconciliation with Him activated to enable our prayers to enter the heavenly Holy of Holies.

Thanks for commenting, and yes, we could have fun... much fun, little learning!

This was really a good one! I wish you could teach a Bible Study. What fun we would have!

I remember this coming up in our Bible Study group years ago and we were all totally stumped! Our instructor had a different interpretation!

I hope you’re enjoying this winter. The weather down here is amazing! WARM......my bones don’t hurt!

Thanks for taking the time to share some more of your love of the Bible!

Zemirah!

You are such a kind, uplifting, joy filled person! I must disagree with you...with you as our teacher it would be impossible not to learn and have fun! One day we will meet in our brand new body, no more pain, a nice full head of hair and we will worship and praise our Lord and Savior! What a day that will be!

I should have “knocked on wood” when I bragged about warm weather! It got close to freezing last night and is in the 50’s today. We may have to endure a few days of cool weather! 😂

It’s amazing how the puzzle pieces are falling into place. More and more of the prophecies are being revealed as they get closer. What exciting times we live in!

I’m looking forward to your next lesson! No pressure! 😇

Good evening, TexaCan,

My illusion of warmth outside disappeared overnight too.

It was 16 degrees at ten this morning. It is 14 degrees now, and starting to snow.

200 miles to the north, in Chicago, it was 4 degrees below zero. Better here than there!

I won't be going out tomorrow, but maybe into the adjacent sunroom, with all windows, which is heated like the rest of the house with electric heat... but gives the illusion of being in the midst of the snow.

I can look out at the jacuzzi, which is covered for the winter.

Thank you for applying adjectives that really don't apply.

To understand why we Christian all seem to be at different stages in our "development," or remodeling to conform to Jesus' image, we have to look at where we were when God started working with us... Ha!

Start there, and we're all the Almighty's walking miracles, praise God. ...progressing toward our goal at our own individual pace, but getting there!
