It is simply a matter of language and using the correct terms, a child does not exist until it is born.

So if one were to cut open a woman's stomach and rip the fetus from her womb, and toss it in a trash can, and someone came along and cared for it and nursed it back to health and raised it to adulthood, that wouldn't count as a human being, right?

There IS such thing as an unborn child, it's called an embryo or fetus depending on age. We can not only do DNA sequencing on the unborn child, we can do surgery as well!

Your rationalization smells of guilt. I'm thinking you have possibly fathered a child only to have the mom abort it. You feel guilty and need some sort of way out to appease your guilt. I've seen it many times.

Yet, every fetus becomes a person and every acorn becomes an oak tree if they have uninterrupted optimal conditions to be nourished and to thrive. They just need protecting which you tend to deny them. Maybe you should have become a pimp when you grew up. You seem to qualify, zero compassion for those smaller or weaker than you. You were once an embryo and a fetus too. Your mom didn't allow anyone to rip you apart or stick scissors in your neck or suck your brains out. You missed some important life lessons somewhere.
