If the House cannot prove its case now without additional witnesses then it proves the impeachment was a farce. Of course, Democrats idea of fairness is that everything must be done their way.

Call witnesses, please. Hunter Biden, come on down coke head!!

Yep. Just like they did in the House. Oops, that’s not what happened in the house. Once again Kevie speaks from both sides of his mouth.

I couldn’t agree with you more. As any trial lawyer knows, you never know what can of worms a witness will open, especially hostile witnesses. And the witnesses that are being named are all hostile witnesses. Tactics could include long delays, being outside the jurisdiction, or just plain going sideways with expected testimony. Meaning the impeachment fiasco would be front and center for God only knows how much longer.
As Nancy Pelosi has already told us, the Dem controlled House has succeeded in impeaching Trump. That can’t be undone. The smartest thing now is to summarily dispatch the articles of impeachment with a vote (along party lines) meaning there’s no way the Dems get the required 3/5s vote to impeach.
If there’s gonna be hell to pay against the Dems for bringing the articles up, have voters do it at the ballot box in November.

The House does not prosecute, they investigate to see if an impeachment trial is warranted.

Kevyn, you're talking about how things work in a court of law. This is about how things are supposed to work in the U.S. Congress. In this particular instance, the Prosecution called their witnesses but the defense was not allowed to call witnesses or cross examine. Supposedly, the prosecution rests. Now the judge (the Senate) can make a decision. If they are satisfied with what has been presented, they can make a decision and it's over. What is it you do not like about that arrangement? Is it because the prosecution has never had a case and has been blowing smoke and neglecting their legislative duties for 3 years while trying to make something out of nothing?

And if there is little or no evidence of whatever they are alleging, the Senate can dismiss it for that reason. This happens in court all the time.

It works however the Senate decides it works. The same way it worked in the House with the way the Democrats wanted it to work. The Senate majority can run it any way it chooses.

There's a great precedent to set...

Sure that won't come back to bite anyone in the ass

Didn't bother you a wit (or half wit as applicable) that the very process you call for in the Senate was not allowed in the lynching conducted by what can now be best described as the Progressive Outhouse.

The house hearings was like a grand jury. It was decided that enough evidence was present to go to trial

They are presenting evidence as to why Trump should be removed from office. That is prosecution. It is not am impeachment trial. That has already happened and Trump has been impeached.

Impeachment is not a trial.any chance of fairness was dismissed by Schiff, Pelosi & Co. Not one House Dem stood up for fairness.
This whole thing is a boring travesty.

The House has already set a precedent that the partisan majority can impeach a President for any reason they choose.

The President was impeached despite Trump's obstruction of Congress by refusing to allow his closest aides to give testimony at the impeachment hearings. The Obstruction charge should be a slam dunk at the Senate trial. Unless the Senate trial turns into a farce when Leader Mitch McConnell (juror) says he will be taking marching orders from Trump (defendant). Before the trial even begins McConnell has stated he will not be fair.

Whine, whine, whine because the Senate will not conduct the same farce the House did.
