This was generated by the Wasps, White Anglo-Saxon Protestants (similar today with their rabid support of the president). This "diversity" was condemned and persecuted. Same with the Wops, Italian immigrants during essentially the same time period. Have those two nationalities been a scourge on our society, upset our country's Republic?

They also assimilated easily. I have relatives from Korea who learned to speak English before they came here and they assimilated. They know American History and the Constitution better than most Americans Their daughters, born in Korea, are each married to a WASP.

My Maternal Grandmother was from what was East Germany at one time. Even today German is the largest ethnic group in America, and at one time German was nearly as wide-spoken as English in the United States. We do not have an American national language. Many spoke German until WWI which made them feel ashamed and self-conscious. My Great Great Grandfather immigrated from Ireland in 1828. My Paternal Grandmother was French and my Maternal Grandfather was English.

We are not a melting pot. We are more like a tossed salad with many ingredients. When mixed together they make a much better salad than plain old boring wedges of iceberg lettuce. Since 1960s marriages across different ethnicities have been increasing. The problem is when some groups don't assimilate, they live in enclaves, don't learn English, and continue allegiance to their home country.

I happen to know many people from different ethnic minorities who support Trump. These are people who take responsibility for themselves. They don't like handouts and they earn their own way through life. They embrace American culture without losing their own. But most importantly, their allegiance lies with America. They are proud to be an "American Citizen."

Democrats, on the other hand, pander to and want each group pitted against another. They favorite weapon is identity politics. Then the Democrats promise to "Fight for You" because you are downtrodden, abused, weak, the victim of prejudice, bias or r****m, and you can't do for yourself. What a specious h**x and that raises the indignation of many minorities. I mean, seriously, Democrats think some people are so helpless that they can't get identification and will not, therefore, v**e. Democrats want to give each group a favored or special status. You know what? Most Americans, and especially conservatives, don't care what you look like, where you came from, who you are. We believe in meritocracy, not affirmative action, which only sets up many for failure. Then the democrats rush in and say "See, I told you so." "America is a r****t country" "But we will fight for you" .

We now have immigrants coming from places where democracy is not the standard they lived by. They don't know how to embrace democracy because they have never had it. They come from c*******tic, socialistic, totalitarian regimes, and they want to escape their miserable conditions. But democracy is a foreign concept to many. So, the first thing they do once they arrive is to set up a system similar to the one they left.

Many Muslims believe in Fate as opposed to Free Will. Their religion teaches them to submit and everything is God's will. This is anathema to our system of liberty, free will, and personal responsibility. The easiest way is to let someone take care of you. Who doesn't want to be taken care of? This is what the democrats promise; cradle to grave care so that you become dependent on the government. But this is not what this country was founded on. If you want Sharia Law then you have come to the wrong country and definitely don't belong here. If you subscribe to the Democratic Party Platform then you are in the wrong country. Quit trying to turn this country into something it was never meant to be.
