Jeremiah chapter 10

Verse 1 - 5

Idolatry got replaced by religion, but they are similar. They both serve God the way they want to, instead of the way He wants. The other nations worshipped gods that they made. Israel was supposed to worship the God that made all.

Verse 6 and 7

If we knew the power of God, we would read His word and do as He says. There is a difference between when God makes something and when man makes something. God makes life. If it gets broken, it grows back together. If man makes it and it breaks, it must be replaced.

Verse 8 - 11

Brutish means stupid. Man in no way compares to God. They went from making idols to writing songs. Saying things they can’t prove and don’t make sense. God is alive. Man designed idols. They never did anything.

Verse 12 - 16

With God’s power, wisdom, and direction; He built this galaxy. Some think we can change the temperature of this planet. We cannot. We are just here for the ride. We should serve the God that made us.

Verse 17 - 22

Assyria took the larger nation of Israel. One day they will return. Churches deceive us. They make us think we have a relationship with Jesus while ignoring every sermon He preached, parable He taught, and the miracles He performed.

Verse 23 - 25

Those that do God’s will shall be blessed. If God doesn’t punish you, then He doesn’t love you. We should gut up and cope with tough situations.
