Jesus made a statement about ears to hear and eyes to see. He was not talking about physical eyes and ears. He was talking about Spiritual eyes and ears. For example, The bible says [It is appointed for man to die once and after that the Judgment.] The bible is not talking about physical death. He is talking about Spiritual death. When Adam sinned against God he did not die in the flesh, He died Spiritually. Everybody born into the world after that was born into the world Spiritually dead. The word appointed means before hand. God said let Us make man in our Image. God formed Adam from the dust of the earth. When Adam sinned against God, God cursed the earth. Since Adam was formed from the dust of the earth Adam was cursed too. It was at this point that God could start to make man in his Image. Adam and Eve had a son named Seth. The bible says that Seth was born into the world in the image of Adam, not God. God let us see good and evil in the world. There was a price to pay for this. The price of sin was separation from God and sentenced to eternal damnation. In order for God to make man in his image He had to let us see good and evil. Since man did not have the power to change things back to where they were before man sinned, God made a way through Jesus. Adam contributed nothing to His creation. You did not contribute anything to be born into this world. Lazarus contributed nothing when Jesus call Him out of the tomb. He was dead. That is why there is a book of life. It is Jesus way of overcoming death by writing every ones name in it before the foundation of the world. The book of Hebrews calls it a last will and testament.
