Art Carney and me.
I went to the wedding of my best friend and Jackie Gleason's niece. He did not come because he did not want to distract from her wedding.
I had me art Carney many many years before and when Art Carney came in he saw me and said "Dwight Logan we have not seen each other for years." When he asked I said that I came alone I told him yes. When the mother of the bride came by he asked if he could sit next to me.
During the meal he told everyone at the tale that I told so many interesting stories aout living in Japan right after WW2. He told that I probably was the only person they ever met who had his piccture taken in the cell with Tojo who wss the Hitler of Japan.
He also talked about my father who hosted Jackie Gleason annd him when were in Tokyo. In addition he explained that he had written the new Japanese Constitution and Ike had appointed him the chief civilian negotiator of the Korean Peace Accords.
