Unless the stores in your area have stopped selling them and it is the only means you have to feed yourself and family, I hardly see this as an arguement worth seperating a family. Grow up, let go of your attachments to material thing...in the end, you will die and most of your fishing gear will be picked over and given away....while most will find its way to bottoms of creeks, ponds...or landfills. But, the disharmony you sew will forever be remembered and resented. So sad and so petty!

I believe you are missing the point; the lying little turd and his apologist mother needed to be exposed publicly, the lures were just the vehicle for the exposition.

Really? In my family, which is very large, we have a few liars....they "enrich" as they claim, stories that would hold no interest. We all know who they are. We would never divide our family over their stories. We also have a couple thieves, if they admire something and you want to keep it, lock it up while they are in the house. Again, we would never stage a crisis over the stolen material thing, or embarrass a family member. Then again, family is more important than any material object. BTW, according to our story tellers, I actually had (many years before my time) a rogue who was shot by a jealous husband. A colorful family, would you not agree? Love holds us together, we know our faults and love each other regardless of shortfalls.....and to hold a grudge over fishing lures just is too petty! But, that is our family. Perhaps the love of a fishing lure is more important to some folks than harmony and love of family.

You can love family members who lie and thieve (and protect yourself from them accordingly) when they own up to it. Lying thieves and their apologists who repeatedly deny their misdeeds can not be tolerated until they are forced to come clean.

As others have expressed, it might be wonderful if such love and harmony could exist here on OPP.

Perhaps, since a large family has given you so many bonus years of practice, as you naturally demonstrate how to proceed by expressing just such an attitude of forbearance towards the "OPP family" members who trigger such similar judgement in you, we might all partake in the blessing of peace.

Ramen and ramen.

People know they are lying when they loyally lie and defend against something that did in fact happen, they know they are lying, but have an ability to deceive themselves into claiming they didn't know, so they weren't really lying, they were just wrong.

The fact of the matter is that people fall back on a number of plausibilities to defend their position and be able to say they are not in fact lying.

...They can fabricate an alternate reality because there is no proof that they are wrong or lying, the new alt fact is alternate theories and nobody knows for sure...except that facts are in disagreement.
...The group mentality all believes the alternate reality, so it must be true, everyone else believes this so it must be the t***h
...There is a certain element of not wanting to know any facts that do not support the alternate reality, if you don't know the t***h ignorance can be credibly claimed
...The first line of defense is invariably to support that it never happened, it's f**e news, then when unfortunate facts come out that prove this was a lie, the defense moves into the "so what, that's not a crime mode", the part of the defense that also chooses to continue to refuse to acknowledge details and facts that would make this assertion look weak if not stupid.

My cousin had a teenaged son who was a lying thieving little turd, and my cousin was always defending him, often with direct lies that provided alibis that simply were not true, and she was pugnacious enough to get in your face and dare you to call her a liar. According to her, she was always maintaining that she was the last word in terms of honor and integrity.

He had cleaned my tackle box out of a lot of bass lures I had gotten from my grandfather that I had gotten for him when I was stationed in Louisiana. I knew which ones were mine so I was taking them back. He went and got his mom, and she freaked out and said those were his lures she had bought them for him for christmas. I told her she was a liar, which further freaked her out, she absolutely h**ed to be called a liar. She went to my grandma acting all freaked out, she figured I was going to be taken to task for calling her a liar and not being able to prove it. My aunts, uncles, grandparents, and my mother were all there trying to moderate. I knew I finally had my cousin caught dead to rights in a lie. I told her, so you say you bought these for Cory right, where did you get them? She said Walmart. I told her that this would be impossible, that she was mistaken because these lures were manufactured in Shreveport and only sold in local stores in the area, that I had been buying these for our grandparents in the 70's because they worked so well everywhere they travelled. She looked like a deer in headlights, my grandma, who was the last word in the family said let me see them. She looked at one and said yep, these are the ones Keith got us for years. I said I am taking everything I know is mine, my cousin was saying no I'm not, and my grandma told my cousin to shut up, Keith knows which lures are his, you obviously have lied about which ones are Cory's.

When you take up defending a liar it doesn't make sense to lie to do it, if you are ignorant you may as well be lying.

You hear tell wrong, us usual. Impeachment and removal have declined since the kangaroo hearings started and the current level is less than 50%.

Try this piece of t***h on, Singularity (I remembered the capital, showing you more respect than you show anyone who disagrees with you) for size. The move for impeachment began on November 9, 2016 when you progressives began to push to prevent Donald J. Trump’s inauguration. The Democrats are only illustrating Lavrenti Beria’s famous statement to Josip Stalin, show me the man & I’ll show you the crime.

You can be proud , Singularity.

Trump lied before he was a politician. I take it you believe that if a person is a businessman you expect him to be a liar and if someone is a preacher you expect them to be a liar. Is there an occupation that you don't expect someone to be a liar?

Can you honestly say you have never told a lie?

This video compares the level of "impeachment fever" over most of our lifetimes and it shows it to have pretty much always been generally a partisan issue with about 30% support, most all from the opposing party. Until Trump.

Trump IS different. I do not contest the fact that the Trump phenomenon has fundamentally challenged and changed our culture and government. I do have confidence that the Constitutional process will address and balance out the aberration and heal the rift some way or another.

I am proud. And I require better of my governmental overlords.

Things always happen.

I can recall no instance where DJT was found to be lying. Even his seemingly outrageous statements, such as his claim, that Trump Tower was bugged turned out to be true.

Schiff has contradicted himself numerous times & it has been documented. I strongly doubt that Trump has lied to anywhere near the extent as the lies that have ben said about him, including the lies on OPP,

Of what? Government & this farce?

The Founders wanted a very limited government. Even Alexander Hamilton argued against The Bill of Rights because he felt there was no need to have one since if a power weren't delegated to the federal government, there was no need to guard against it. Famous last words. Progressives stand on the sidelines cheering on this assault on our liberties.

Government is about power, which is why it should be extremely limited. Where it can be abused, it will be. Progressivism wants no limits on government power which is why it leads, inevitably, to tyranny.

And if you aren't aware of Schiff's lies, yours is far worse than mine.

Well! With about 60% of Americans watching nothing but the MSM what would you expect? If the lie's are told often enough they will begin to get traction with uninformed v**ers. Jus saying.
