Trolls gotta troll..

It's unfortunate how difficult it is to have a civil conversation these days...

Try looking for WorkingClassStiff or Permi....

They're both pretty cool...

Or stick to the right

I'm not sure about permi...I have restrained myself and just watched the conversation and I gotta say...he's been pretty closed minded lately, and pretty hard on those that disagree. But, because of you I will continue to look for the good in him.

I see...
In the interest of peace, I thought she made good sense. Nothing is ever all how we want it, but some of our views and some of their views. A compromise has always been the binding factor when the 2 parties actually worked together.
I would like to see some of that now instead of all this hatred.

I agree...

Polarization has not served anyone well...

Except for certain special interest groups....

I consider myself a liberal. Although many that claim that label would consider me a LINO.

For example, I’m not only opposed to reducing Social Security benefits but support raising them. Too many of the aged can’t even afford decent long term care. And many have to choose between buying food or buying the medication they need to survive.

I’m opposed to reducing food stamps. A family of 4 gets $600 a month. Try to feed a family of 4 on that before you gripe.

I support expanding Section 8 availability. This would do more to reduce homelessness than anything else I know of.

I would continue, but you get the point.

The ranting right an the sniveling left are like the peanut gallery. Loud obnoxious and useless.

They remind me of squabbling monkeys. All they do is scream at each other and throw feces.

This is why I’m looking for other grounded liberals and hopefully some some sensible conservatives.

The same among us really need to find each other and come up with a strategy to go after the oligarchs. I don’t care what party they’re in, or what banner they wave.

I agree though they have a stranglehold and their tentacles are far reaching. Difficult but it has to be done.

I said:, " I have found that when people do what Obama does they are usually deliberately confusing their marks before they screw them over. "

You said:
" In MY long life I have found that to be the exception rather than the rule. Maybe I'm just less prone to being fooled because when people try to fool me with big words I can usually see right through it. "

I had some more clever remarks in mind, but I will just leave it there.

You took two sentences from completely different parts of a post and put them together as if one was a response to the other... You call that clever?

son of witless wrote:

I said, " I have studied Samuel Johnson the great 18th English century literary figure and sometimes he would use obscure language, but you could still grasp his meaning because he valued clarity above all else. "
You said,

" My bet is that you were simply more interested in what Samuel Johnson was saying so you took the effort to learn what he meant. "

Of course that is true. Johnson, not being a politician had no reason to attempt deception. Obama being a politician was more interested in winning than he was in the t***h.
br I said, " I have studied Samuel Johnson t... (show quote)

It was an easy assumption to make. Most people don't listen to the people they prejudge. And that's fine but it really doesn't give much credit to your critique on Obama's language. Just saying.

son of witless wrote:

I said,
" Obama deliberately uses imprecise language so that when his ideas fail he could always claim that he did not mean what you thought he said. Used car salesmen and crooked politicians do that. "

You said,
" I'm not going to say this technique isn't used in politics but I don't think it's an accurate caricature of Obama's communication to the public. I think in most cases he was just talking to the American people on an adult level. "

You've already admitted that you did not understand everything he said.
br I said, br " Obama deliberately uses im... (show quote)

And in the SAME sentence I said that was OK because I take the time to LEARN what he said. That second part of the sentence was my main point and you keep leaving that out to suit your game. Look, if you're trying to piss me off with these childish pranks, don't bother. I don't get pissed off, I just lose respect and eventually get bored.

son of witless wrote:

I say that he looked into the TV cameras and deliberately lied about Obamacare. Now you may be higher educated than the average v**er and you did not get 100 % of what he said. Imagine how much less many other citizens understood when he spoke. Add that to the fact that I say he lied, and the inescapable conclusion is that Obama lied his ass off and used big words and twisted logic to deceive everyone, but me.

He wasn't able to deceive me. I knew the Obamacare numbers did not and could not add up. It did not matter because v**ers like you had already given him the power to enact Obamacare.
br I say that he looked into the TV cameras and d... (show quote)

You make a lot of lose assumption witless. There isn't anything that Obama said about the ACA that I did not understand right away. Also, Obama didn't lie about the ACA. Now, I've seen several "arguments" circulating through right-wing media that insist he did but I have found gaping holes in each of them. You are welcome to give it a shot. Go ahead and tell me what he lied about and I will tell you what you missed.

.....I don't know about that trade war stuff- that is to say if Trump is winning the trade war with China,;

The impact of Trump's antics on trade is actually not that easy to quantify. But so far all indications are negative.

dongreen76 wrote:

but I do know for once he is expounding the Ideologies that distinguishes the U.S. from the totaltarian world.

If that seems out of character for Trump it is... He actually resisted at first but Congress passed the resolution with such an overwhelming majority that it would override any veto. So Trump either had to agree or be seen as a loser.

China is reneging on the deal made a hundred years ago with England. It was understood that there would be a t***sitional period to give them time to become acclimated to a different type of rule.China wants to extradite those individuals to mainland China so that they can be judged by oppressive Jurist Prudence. There by totally disavowing the agreement

I don't know off hand if that t***sitional period is over... It's been 20 years since Britain handed Hong Kong over to Beijing. Still, I'm glad our Congress decided to make a stand on this.

You are right that appropriations start in the house BUT has to be passed by the Senate. Right now there are over 400 bills (many with bi-partisan support) being held up by one person, which is turtle face McConnell. So your frustration is aimed at the wrong people. Of course you likely won't hear this on Faux Noise.

Excellent point! Indeed, Just-Saw-A-Ghost McConnell is the REAL American tyrant. Trump is just the clown they use for distracting people.

I believe it is you Rose who doesn't see what is going on. As for the two parties doing the same thing that is simply not true, let's go back and see where did {Corporations are people too} come from, it definitely did not came from the left, but rather distinctly from the right and the Koch manifesto.
