My mother and I were flying from Japan to the USA. The night before our family had dinner with him and his family.
A private was flying home because his wife had been broadsided by a drunk and they did not expect her to live.
Just before we took off a Sgt came aboard and there were no seats available. He approached the Private and told him to get off because he outranked him was not going to miss his 20 year high school reunion. When the private explained his problem he yelled "get out because no one will stop me."
I have said many times on onepoliticalplaza I have found that the more important people are the more observant and considerate they are. General Lemnutzer approached the two and said that the Sgt could have his seat and he would make other arrangements. I never saw such fright in a person as he did when he flew out of the plane.
As the general eturned to his seat said he would pray for his wife. He added that he was a young officer once and he told him that a superor officer gave him some money to be used and, because of that, he was really helped. With that he handed him $500.

Damned straight. Hero's do exist. And it's up to us to tell the stories, because most of them don't adhere to the progressive (MSM) agenda. God Bless all parties involved and thank you for sharing.
