Three Republican Senators Could Enact A Simple Rule Change To Hold Senate Impeachment V**es In Secrecy
This is being discussed, and it may be an out for McConnell and the GOP, you can bet there are at least 20 republican senators that would love to wipe this wad of dog crap off of their shoes if they could do it in secrecy.
This is being discussed, and it undoubtedly resulted from the behind the scenes way republicans are talking about liking the idea of dumping trump for the good of the party.
Juleanna Glover, who is a republican analyst who served as an adviser to Bush and Cheney, is floating this strategy on the hill and laying out how it works. The senate would draft it's own rules on how to handle the impeachment trial, and it would only take three GOP senators to refuse to adopt McConnell's rules unless the end result is a v**e taken in secrecy.
Given how persistent the talk continues to be that at least 20 republicans would v**e to impeach if it were v**ed on in secrecy, this thing may take on weight because of it's simplicity.
There is one more undercurrent being talked about, and that is that there may be a silver lining for trump, that state prosecutors may be willing to lighten up on civil charges should he agree to quietly go away rather than force a v**e that it's likely he would be impeached with.
I know the right will h**e this and think it's crap, but this is how government works.
