Thank you, i have to think of some words for all the other vets on OPP, this is a day to honor all and forget the arguments we thrive on..I had a quite day with the little fellow who is my great grandson..

He has learned to play with a never drying sand kit thing when I want quite.. he makes bridges, forts, houses, wall and such for a long time. being quite the whole time. great invention...this never dry sand.. came from the science museum gift shop in St. Paul..

The bear photo?? all I know is the few words that came with the picture.. but I have heard of this happening more often as what became normal habitat for polar bears decreased..

While cross breeding any animal tends to bring out large off spring this fellow would be an awesome example by any standard..

He certainly is a beautiful well fed bear.
I doubt if his father checked the weather or the c*****e c****e statistics before
"gitt'n it on with his mother" they did good work and should be congratulated..

Sounds like time well spent...An excellent gift for a young mind

There have been cases of polar bears and Grizzlies mating as well... Not certain if it points to c*****e c****e... The divergence between the two species is quite young... And there are almost no records older than a few decades...

I get the point though... Eyes open... Think this meme is appropriate here...

Polar bears and Grizzly Bears are two variants of the same species. That was well established long ago.

good morning CD.... I really like that meme...

Polar bear and Grizzly mating... wow, that would be a scuffle of the ages.. LOL..

Yes, I would think cross mating has happened for other reasons than CC...

Back to the meme.. a better world for any reason, planned or not is fine with me...

Seems proper, one variant in different habitats...

Once upon a long time ago, grizzly bears were found even in Minnesota location..

Good morning to you Idaho..

I agree concerning the meme...

It's not the goal that concerns me, so much as how they go about reaching it...

The end justifies the means sorta of nightmare...

Hope all is well with you this fine day

Good morning back to you Permie.

We have black bears that range through our property, and one hibernated in a den just inside the north fence line for the last several years, although not last year. The black bears are welcome (the cougars are not because they have become too habituated to people and are scary dangerous). The first summer after we bought, we managed to surprise a black bear partaking of apples in our orchard (30 feet from the house), who s**mpered up a red fur tree inside our garden fence. No big deal, we went to bed and he was gone by morning. When we drove out to town next morning, said bruin had a left a big present for us in the middle of the drive. When my partner tells the story, his variant is that he “scared the s__t out of the bear”.

There have been no reports since I bought here of grizzlies in the area, but they are legally hunted less than 40 miles away - so easily within migrating distance under the right circumstances.

Hm that's odd, I'm not doubting anything you've said. Recently Isawa cartoon, a polar bear saying something about before there were just 2,000 of them, now they are close to overpopulated. That pic is awesome.

About a year ago i read an article which pointed to a surge of population in polar bears over the last decade or so.. the hunting had become easier due to melting reducing air holes or something... now that does not sound right, but something helped more than people could do..

but later, (now) the same melting etc, was severe enough to change the hunting range, which is the ice pack and the polar bears are now turning up dead. starved or drowned far from ice flows..
They also are forced to try land animals and so meet the brown bear and cross with them which results in a none white coat..

I intend to keep an eye open for information.. it would be a huge shame to lose polar bears from our eco system.. that would not be in my life time in any event but I do tend to worry..
