Veterans Day was originally "Armistice Day;" in honor of the [official] end of hostilities in WWI. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. It was changed in 1954 to honor all veterans, not just those from WWI. Since 1926, American has honored her vets on this day.

I would also add that today was the 244th birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

And our armed forces have ALWAYS done us proud, so in my opinion they all should be honored each and every day. Thanks to all for their service. Love and gratitude to you and yours daily
