Hewitt: Senate Must Not Legitimize Sham Impeachment

From the story: A long, drawn-out deep dive into what the president has long inveighed against as a r****d system would improve the president’s ree******n chances. That would include a look at the activities in Ukraine of H****r B***n and sweep in findings from U.S. Attorney John Durham’s probe into 2016 e******n-related controversies. Taking no prisoners and insisting on an accused right’s to put on a full defense, Trump, with the consent of McConnell and the GOP majority, could force proceedings that will turn the tables on his partisan accusers and rebut the idiocy, introduced by the Steele dossier, that he is some kind of “Russian asset” (Washington Post). Karl Rove tells the story of when Schiff failed in trying to take down Rove in 2008. He concludes “Mr. Schiff probably hopes the public impeachment hearings will allow him to reprise Tom Cruise’s role in “A Few Good Men” as Lt. Daniel Kaffee—“I want the t***h!” But I know from experience that Mr. Schiff isn’t much interested in the t***h. He’s more interested in drama, fiction and fame. His calm demeanor masks the heart of a fierce, untrustworthy partisan” (WSJ).

It's the only paper worth reading unless you have a better suggestion. Yes, it is expensive but I have to have a paper to read with my coffee.

That was a well stated piece of information for those on the left to read. Oh, sorry they won't read the whole article because it goes against their propagandized thoughts.

The only thing they can do is treat this like a sham, and fail to conduct an orderly discovery of the facts as they are versus the rhetoric they have made their minds up on.

The hearings are being seen by the american people, and they will further tip public opinion toward impeachment, if the senate refuses to do this right the GOP will pay at the b****t box. By May this will be a different political climate, and it will not surprise me to see the GOP throw trump under the bus.

And I actually do pay attention to how and what the right reacts to, react being the operative word because thinking was best exemplified by Lindsey Graham, who said he had made up his mind this is a sham and he isn't going to even read transcripts or pay attention to the case.

Is ignorance one of the seven deadly sins? It should be.

The hearings haven't been seen by the American people. Please tell me where it is so right for one, Schiff, to have the power to approve witness brought forward by the Republicans or Trump? Where is it so fair for Schiff has the right to approve of a question, by the Republicans, for a witness to answer? The radical Dems will not even give Trump the same rights the Republicans gave to Bill Clinton, is that fair? Your thinking is so radical it seems to be, like the Russia system of courts, that you seem so intensely against. So sad for the Dems to have fallen to such a low form of coercion. American sill see this investigation as nothing more than a sham and political perversion. Moving away from the fundamentals of our court system. So very, very sad.

That's what they told you? The GOP in large part isn't anymore. Delecto, Brennan and a yahoo from Burisma set that UN compound up in Utah, a Senator? Try g*******t. This h**x has most distracted while we're being invaded, but all aren't distracted. I'm waiting for them to get here. Pipe bombs galore. Will there be some collateral damage? If you've been in a fire-fight you'll already know the answer is yes.

If it was there would be a separate room set aside just for you.

Where is it right, if not criminal obstruction for a president to block people from testifying? The rights you speak of that Clinton got came at the senate "trial" stage, not the house investigation point.

It's not sad to see a president obstruct an investigation the way he is, it's damn right scary that he can do it without immediately being impeached, which had Obama tried that the senate would have impeached in a heartbeat. There's nothing sad about this, it's scary that a president actually thinks he cannot even be investigated while he is sitting.
