We have had Universal background checks forever and it hasn't made us one bit safer so why do they keep talking about them.?

Because people like you keep reelecting them. You say you're against open borders and unchecked immigration, amnesties, and oppose gun control, yet you support, without question, a bunch of politicians who favor all these policies you claim to oppose. Make up your mind; this cognitive dissonance is wearing thin.

J.Florio: Universal background checks
How so very right, you are! America was, once upon a time, The Free-ist Nation
On Earth, but certainly not the most perfect,
wh**ever that is!? We had a True, Law & Order
Democracy, however imperfect, at times; with Justice Being Swift, & FINAL! A True Democratic, Constitutional Republic! NOW, we
are more like a mixed-up, confused, unhappy,
Child, head bound, for “SUICDE”; LED by a whole host of “Pointed Headed”, G*******t, L*****t, Fanatical Radical’s, “Hellbent” On our
complete destruction!!! If these ‘T*****R’s’,
find( & they have. ), there’s Not Enough “Loyal Minorities”, “TO TIP THE SCALES”, then
they just ‘GET TOGETHER’, & Change Our I*********n L*ws, etc. etc. & ‘Find A Way’ to
“IMPORT A NEW NON-WHITE, MAJORITY” -MINORITY!! Democracy, then becomes, what
it is today, A “HYPOCRISY”!!! Even [ ‘Back When’ ), A Convicted FELON, was freed from Prison, after “Paying His, or Hers”, “Debt TO SOCIETY”, Their FIREARM’S were Returned,
TO THEM, as they were now considered Law
Abiding Citizen’s, & Allowed A ‘Fresh Start’!!!
That is the Way It Should Be!!! When a minority of Reckless, Irresponsible, ‘I***T’S’
Misused, & Abused, FIREWORK’S, That were
LEGAL, In Several U.S. States,
“BIG BROTHER”, OUTLAWED ALL OF THESE PARTICULAR( REAL ), FIREWORK’S!!! Now,
The Time Is At Hand, Where, THE FIRST, & SECOND AMENDMENT’S Are To Be Outlawed,
By This “NEW & ARTIFICIALLY, CREATED”,
Phony, “MAJORITY”!!! The ‘TAIL’, Is NOW, “WAGGING THE DOG”!!! Civil War, Anyone!?
Payback Time

We just v**ed in Constitutional Carry w/o permit. If you are caught with a gun and are a felon or have had a restraining order against you your in trouble. I think that's how it works. Okla is the 14th state now...

No, lone is right this time. Look at the really big picture, the universal picture. Those checks mean any country can know about us, they can even track some. It's why I don't use a cell phone (GPS) and have tape over the webcam in my computer. I know, if they really wanted to they can still tack me through my tax returns. Hey go for it, my wife pays them.

We've had background checks since 1997. Bill Clinton signed that into law. "Universal" background checks would require that all firearms be licenced by serial number. Once that is done, any administration can decide to start confiscating.
We've had semi automatic rifles since the Winchester Self Loader came on the market in 1909. We've had semi automatic rifles with 30 round mags since the M1 Carbine was declared obsolete about 1967, and released to the public through the Director of Civilian Marksmanship (DCM) but we didn't have these mass shootings. There is a reported strong link between these tragedies and veteran suicides and some rare side effects of anti depressant drugs. My state rep (who cosponsores every anti gun bill that comes along) admitted that pharma "donates" 'way more money than NRA ever dreamed of, and nobody seems to be able to control these drugs. When they prescribe millions of doses, rare side effects get pretty common.

When I was a high school wrestling coach I had to receive a list of medications these kids were on and I was to put it mildly shell shocked. Out of 21 kids my first year coaching 16 were on medications and I had to be aware of the side effects of all of them. Most listed; possible depression, euphoria and mood swings as said effects. It's a wonder one of them didn't shoot me.

After I retired from teaching about 25 years ago, I ran into a former colleague who told me, just as you are saying, that kids were being literally drugged with prescriptions. I had a kid in my biology class who was constantly disrupting class with attention-getting behavior. One guidance counselor let drop that he was on one of these anti depressants. One afternoon he went home and beat his 10-year old sister to death with a hammer. He got Mom with the hammer and Dad with a kitchen knife. These drugs are useful and help many people live better lives, but they may be overprescribed just as opioids have been. It leaves me wondering why the Feds told the Vermont legislature that they had no authority to control these drugs. "Saturday night specials" didn't scare us into giving up the 2nd amendment 'cause they didn't exist. "Cop K**ler Bullets" didn't either. But mass k*****gs might do the trick.
