At one point they frowned on interracial marriage. Give it time. It usuallly take Rome 100-200 years to change it's mind about anything.

Frowned up on and forbade are two different terms...

And the Church would have a difficult time backing opposition to interracial marriages with the Bible...

Not so homosexual relationships...

If you do not believe God exists, why are you feeling so threatened that you would sink to such foolish comments?

Why do you loonies always think that anyone who doesn't believe in your primitive form of religion doesn't believe in God?

Nah, Rome is clearly on the wrong side of history here. Even Pope Francis said, "Who am I to judge?"
THAT sent the old sods scurrying for cover muttering anathemae.

Wrong side of history?

Not sure I follow...

Francis is quite correct....

He doesn't get to judge...

Let's not conflate discernment with judgement...

There isn't the slightest possibility that homosexuality in any of its forms will ever be mainstream thought, much less acceptable to religion.

If you look at the things the Bible labels 'an a*********n' you will find they all have one thing in common, extreme social consequences. Society will fail to function successfully if any of those things become mainstream thought.

"Primitive form of religion"???? Y'all best explain what you mean?

If you are thinking Christianity and Judaism are primitive simply because our scripture is centuries old and its authors are long since dead, you are terribly mistaken. Almighty God is the author of His own word and He is timeless. The Bible's message is as relevant today as it was when it was written so long ago.

Question is, who is your god and what is your religion?

I believe Kemmer has claimed to be a Catholic in the past (and if I'm wrong I beg his pardon)...

I think he is claiming that "your" interpretation of dogma is primitive...

I don't understand it myself... The Bible seems quite clear on these things... And primitive is a poor choice of words...

What do you mean by "my" interpretation of dogma? What exactly do you not understand?

I used the quotation marks because I recognize that it is not your interpretation...

Member appears to believe that all Christians who understand the Bible to speak out against homosexuality have their own personal interpretation of dogma...

I don't understand Kemmer's stance on this one... The Bible seems very clear to me on the topic of homosexuality...

Almighty God IS Love. God loves all human beings. There is no question that God loves murderers, rapists, adulterers, bigots, thieves, liars and homosexuals. God endowed us all with free will, we have the freedom to choose whether or not we will obey His commandments. It is up to us to make that choice. It is not for us to condemn anyone for failing to do so.

Believing is one thing even the Devil believes that !

Just believing won't make the cut in where each of us will spend eternity it takes Believing as well as confessing and repenting and turning from our sin and walking with God !

1 One can believe and disregard Gods plan for them !

2 One can accept Gods plan and can allow God to guide them thru life by walking with God !

Both have consequences

1 Spending all of eternity without God in a dark and burning pit where the fire is not quenched !

2 Spending all of eternity in Gods presents in the light and all of his glory !

We each have the right to chose which we will spend all of eternity do so before one dies as to which choice one makes will be their home for a long long long time !

As an old mechanic teacher always said when he wanted one to remember something of importance

A Word of Advice Should be Sufficient

I think if the Catholic Church wants to survive, priests have to get a normal sex life. The reasons for celibacy are due to reasons founded in the dark ages. A long time ago.
