Say it is 4% and there are a half million clergy outside of the Catholic Church, that would mean there are 20,000 sexual predators hiding in the ranks of our churches. So throw in the Catholic Chruch and that's why no child of mine ever went to church unescorted.

===============
I grew up in the Catholic teachings until high school. All my nieces and nephews did the same. Some went to Catholic colleges and universities. We encountered NO priest predators.

During our years of school, we never encountered priests abusing children. Nuns were usually our teachers, and they were very strict disciplinarian. We learned a lot including values and good morals.

I think it is unfair to single out Catholic priests on the sexual abuse problems. I am aware that because priests are not married, society believes that they abuse children. I think there is 1% of the priests who had those problems. All the priests I know of, and I've been serving the Church since young, I know no priest of doing any sexual abuse in the church.

The problem with that was there were some LGBT's who applied as priests and the Diocese did not know about that. So, they were allowed to serve as priests after they of course had taken all academic training to be a priest.
It takes at least 8 years to 10 years before someone could be fully serve as priest. Many have multiple degrees and have also Ph.D. degrees in Theology.

Most priests have sacrificed their lives to celibacy. In fact, because of the rumors about sexual abuses, priests that I know at present are afraid to touch children. Except during baptismal rites at the Fountain.

In every level of society, there are many sexual abuses, in public schools, remember La Tornoe, she was convicted of sexual abuse of her student. Happens other Christian denominations, even in Congress and at the WH, when Bill Clinton did his job. Jeffrey Epstein was reported murdered perhaps, as reported by the doctor who examined cause of his death. I know he was a frequent friend of Bill Clinton. Bill Cosby was convicted of that also. Democrats in Congress people are also predators, and recently a woman representative just quit. Her life was disgusting. And the most radical doer of those filthy lifestyle are the people in Hollywood.

The Catholic Church has spent billions of dollars paid to those who complained even some 60 years ago. Some were I believe exaggerated so they could get money.
Society always attack the Catholic Church.
Priests make sins too, since all human beings are sinners. But to lamp all blames to innocent priests at the Catholic Church is not right.

I know the sacrifices of priests all over the world. Some are sent to dangerous countries and the poorest places. They help build schools and provide medical care, dig them water supplies, and teach the natives modern agriculture so they could harvest more. Many of them both nuns and priests have been killed by Muslims, even after helping them.

People don't know this. All they report is about sexual abuses. As if they are saints, when in fact, they do worst. Disgusting. I'll still be Catholic, no matter what hypocrites say about priests. I respect all other Christians who worship Christ, Catholics or not.

Only God could judge us how we are doing about our faith in Him. God knows us all.

Two thoughts:
1. If straight priests are allowed to marry, gay priests must be allowed as well. Such is already the case in the Episcopal Church. But as with the Orthodox, a married priest cannot become a bishop.
2 The spouse of a priest had best have a pretty good, high-paying job.

Do you think that Catholic Priests should be able to get married??? Rabbis are allowed to get married as do other religious leaders !!! So why not Catholic Priests???? What do you guys think????

Many Catholic diocese now permit their priests to marry. I personally think it would be a good thing to allow them to marry. Perhaps doing so would help alleviate some of the sexual deviance priests have been involved with for many, many years.

Those married priests are clergy converts from other traditions who are already married.

Churches that are following and teaching the true Gospel will never allow Gays to preach in their churches because God says it's an abomination !

Churches such as the Episcopal Church and others have turned away from the truth and are just another man made church making man made religion that will cause them to lose their souls when we all stand before God on Judgement Day

I'm sorry that I failed to write it so you could comprehend what was meant !

God says Homosexuality is an abomination so YES God says it's a SIN for Gays to be preaching about the Gospel !

Somehow I feel you still won't be able to comprehend this wording either !

Which means 'some' diocese "allow" priests to marry (or stay married) -correct?

Consider reading "50 Years in the Roman Catholic Church" - you will be surprised at just how long many priests have been abusing children, the Nuns, and even the Sisters.

In some cases already married clergy converts from other traditions will be ordained, but that’s about it. Excluding JWs and Mormons.

Once again, where does God forbid gays from preaching?

Child abuse is certainly not confined to religious.

Actually, if we accept that we are all sinners and a homosexual is no longer practicing the acts, then a homosexual might be qualified to preach.

The Episcopal Church is an apostate church. No true Christian would pass thru their doors. They have a lot of money because of years of hefty endowments before they fell so they'll be around for awhile. They were the first to ordain women and the first to consecrated lesbian bishops. They look good on the outside and inside furnishings but are corrupt and rotting from within theologically. The Faith is always more sacred than the furniture. An old Anglo Catholic Bishop, who for years was an Episcopal priest, told me after he left the Episcopal church that someday two lesbians bishops will be copulating on the Alter during a Communion Service when one little old lady in the pews turns to the little old lady next to her and says, "that's it for me. If they change one more damn! thing I'm leaving!" But they never will. The furniture is more important than the faith. The Episcopal Church led other denominations into accepting that which is sinful and unacceptable within Christianity.

It is unquestionably the Church for you! You'll damn the Catholics but if your church allows sexual deviants then it's OK.

So far as clergy making lots of money it is wrong. I'll let you try and figure out why in your secular mind.
