It's a good thing I don't have the same stereo system I had when this came out or my neighbors would be
pissed! My all time favorite group.

The older I get the more I like them...I didn't like Brian Johnson for
years.

) with time.

I agree. Saw them at the University of Ky. late, seventies. Were great. Don't know how Angus didn't give himself a headache.

I had a friend with a 25 watt Pioneer stereo and some 55 watt off-brand speakers that made three times the noise of a 300 watt stereo system today. Paper cone speakers may not be as space age as the ones today but they were
very efficient.

I had a buddy who spent a mint on a stereo back in the day. He had separate Amp/Pre-Amp/Tuner components, a Real-to-Real Taper Recorder and I think he spent over $1000 each on 2 Klipschorn speakers. With what the service did to my hearing (and I'll admit, a bit of self-inflicted max volume headphone listening) I couldn't tell the difference between that and my Kenwood (16" Bass, 8" mid, 5" tweeter) thumpers hooked up to my Kenwood 100 watt receiver. Of course there's loud and good loud, but when you're just wanting to see how much paint you can peel off the walls listening to "It's a Long Way..." or "Thunderstruck" (ACDC) or "When The Levee Breaks" (Led Zeppelin) or "Tom Sawyer" (Rush) or the like, the difference between a good stereo and one that costs thousands is moot.

...ya, and brands that used to be good now sell cheap pieces of junk...like Altec Lansing and Polk Audio.
Love to get my hands on a set of these...
...Sansui XPS 9000. 18" woofers.
Or some Ohm Fs. They were "inefficient" back in the day but todays speakers need 50 watts to make 'em squeak...like the Fs.
