Add lima beans to the spinach and it's right on for me.
And here I thought MY Mother invented that stuff.
All good...
I loved spinach even as a boy... Fresh or boiled...Now I occasionally eat it fried...
Never had trouble with Lima beans either...
Now my mother's roast...That's another story... Had to worry it for a good ten minutes before one could swallow.... Like a dryer, tougher, tasteless version of jerky...
#8, you forgot pickled beets. That is the science of implausible osmosis.
Gosh! I think we had the same mother.
Anticipation; just wait until your father gets home.!

Now that brings back memories! I used to swallow them whole because I so h**ed the taste and consistency. Now I'm all grown up and we don't buy those durn things.

I guess taste buds really do change over time. Last year was the first time I could ever eat beets and spinach without wanting to toss my cookies. Mom would be so proud.

I've always liked pickled beets and spinach.
I guess it helped that my mom canned those beets herself.
Ha ha, had to go back ...the last part said my mom pickled those beers herself.
That list looks familiar!

Funny... doesn't sound too refreshing. I did take one bite of Korean fermented cabbage once called Kimchi. Hot, spicy, and stinks like rotten socks to me. Some people love it and eat it every day.
I just wish that canned or frozen purple hulled peas tasted as good as when they come from my own garden. The taste is not even remotely the same. Add some cornbread and sliced tomatoes and I'll eat until I hurt myself.

Black eyed peas, cornbread, green onions, fresh tomatoes, fried okra, and fresh cantaloupe are my favorite meal. All from the garden, except the cornbread, of course.
Once we were on vacation and I wanted Chinese food.
Someone spotted a Korean restaurant.
We went in there. Kimchi isn't for me.
I had the bar b cue and belched charcoal all night.
We were almost finished eating and then we see cockroaches...yuck! Not in our food, but who knows if they ate before we did out of our plates.
