What Could Be Wrong With The G7 Being Held At A Trump Venue?

There is a process in place that pertains to the se******n of a world event like this that several prestigious democratic nations participate in. There is a prestige and a need to provide a world class environment as a reflection of the best a country can do.

Besides the obvious constitutional prohibitions about a president taking anything of any value from a foreign country, there would be a dozen top tier venues looked at. There is a process for weighing an array of advantages one would have over another. Trump says this is the best venue, but there were others that would be better if the president's personal bias were taken out of the equation. The fact of the matter is that the Doral would not come in at the top of the list of truly world class resorts that would be excellent.

That aside there are the foreign emoluments issues, it is impossible to validate Trump's proclamation that the resort would make no profit, that is ridiculous. 45,000 meals will be served, how many bottles of wine, and how expensive are they and what markup is the donald going to use? There have been reports out of the DC hotel that envoys have an awareness of how their purchases are monitored, are they buying the $2500 bottles of wine. Trump is known to up the price well beyond industry standards when he has these captive hostages eager to curry favor by running up higher priced stays, booking larger numbers of rooms than they require, paying exorbitant rates for the higher end rooms and suites.

The countries involved can't even freely object and move to hold it elsewhere because Trump has made it clear from day one that to object to what he wants is to incur retaliation and vindictive future hostilities. He sees nothing wrong penalizing countries when he doesn't like a leader because they spoke out against him.

As supporters of Trump you need to know that there are so many things wrong with this that it was a pure moron move, it was just unnecessarily wrong...even FOX news gets that and is objecting.

Alternet.

Alter: verb. to change, or cause to change in character or composition: to modify, convert, amend, adapt, reform, to revise.

Net: noun: a device made of fabric, string or rope stitched together to catch things, usually to snag balls, butterflies, and fish.

In this case, the altered net (Alternet) is designed to catch Suckers.

Come on woodie, give it up! As soon as I read the heading of this thread i knew it had to be posted by one of the reliable leftie OPPers. Sure enough!
Emoluments aren't even a factor in Trump's offer to make his place available at cost for the G7 summit. So everything else you've talked about is BS, plain and simple.
I'm really sorry to hear about your TDS, woodie. The cure is simple. Come to the light. Refuse to fall prey to all that l*****t negativity. You seem rational. Be thankful for all that Trump has achieved, in spite of all the constant, unrelenting, undeserved opposition by the obstructionist Dems. His objective list of accomplishments is impressive!
Walk away from the negativity of liberal Democratic party.

Trump doesn't even have any serious opposition almost a year out from next year's e******n. A bunch of socialist clowns trying to grab some attention on the 'Impeach-Trump' bandwagon, is all they offer. We all know that's not gonna happen.
Trump's gonna win re-e******n in a landslide. No doubt about it. So you can choose to be happy, and fulfilled by just getting off the never-Trump train.
The choice is yours, woodie.

It is apparent you know little about business. Big hotels know almost to the penny what % of everything sold is needed for expenses and what % becomes profit. Trump has pledged to refund to the US Treasury that % that is profit. It really is not that difficult to understand unless those with TDS like you have a vested interest to intentionally misconstrue it. BTW, Trump is a multi-billionaire, do you really think the hundred thousand or so profit made from this conference makes any difference to his bottom line; it would be like you or me earning a quarter.
