The Bible did not want us to prosper, as many Prospertarians claim, but to thrive: a universe in difference

“Tithe 10% and God will return it a hundred fold.” Balderdash and wrong. Jesus now demands 100%.

To thrive is to grow in spirit and grace, becoming ever more humble and obedient to our Lord, not dollars and cents. Nothing wrong with having a mansion, a jet, and a huge bank account, except for the poor and marginalized. As Jesus said, “It is harder for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich to enter the kingdom of God.

"Possessions in the Bible are not actual goods, property, money, or any real riches: it is of the mind. Possessions, for nearly everyone that has them, no matter how rich or even poor, possess them instead. They are attached perhaps for many reasons or a few or one, but they are on its leash. When Jesus told the young man to give up all his possessions, it was not material objects but his mental obsession with them. Fear is usually the basis here of possessions. Even the sometimes arrogance of having them is really fear.

Nothing is to come before the name of the Lord. Figure out the rest.

To prosper or to become wealthy without restraint to its limits? You can prosper without unrestrained limits to your greed. You don't have to overcharge customers, screw your bankers and vendors, or fuk your employees all so you can add a few points to your profit margin. There is no reason someone can't create a business that treats everyone fairly and allows employees a chance at a decent quality of life.

Trump should have learned this at the Wharton school of business because a business, where at the end of the day everyone goes home happy is a business that will thrive, prosper, and pay the largest dividend. If Trump followed this rule it's very likely he never would have gone bankrupt--though following rules is something Narcissists aren't very good at doing...
