"Leave no man behind": for Trump it is just another norm to break forsaking the Kurds, our allies who sacrificed 13,000 to end ISIS

But he assured the public he would be wagging a finger as Turkey made plain and have already attacked Kurds.

Turkey is set to invade Syria and the U.S. said it would remove all of its forces from the "immediate area," according to the White House.

A U.S. official confirmed Monday that American troops in northeast Syria were pulling back.

The Turkish move is likely to put the Kurdish forces that helped the U.S. defeat ISIS in peril. Turkey considers the Kurdish forces -- the PKK and YPG -- terrorist organizations.

The news came late Sunday after President Donald Trump spoke to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by phone earlier in the day.

Trump: "WE WILL FIGHT WHERE IT IS TO OUR BENEFIT"...and not necessarily for past allies, present allies, or the oppressed. The idea is to save money for the taxpayer.

It's 50 guys and if that is what is necessary to save the Kurds, we could just relocate them. Fact is, it's an ongoing feud for a hundred years or more. We need a non-interference motif to our efforts. it is our presence in the ME that has ultimately made it such an unstable area to begin with.

Bottom line, we appreciate their efforts against ISIS, which will NEVER die, but it is time to let them and theirs make their own peace and govern their own world and destiny. We and everyone need to leave the ME to their own destruction.

From Newsweek....

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday that the Pentagon was given an order to begin preparing to pull the roughly 2,000 troops deployed alongside a mostly Kurdish m*****a known as the Syrian Democratic Forces, and an insurgent group called Maghawir al-Thawra. The U.S. first entered the conflict by providing support to a rebel and jihadi uprising against the government in 2011, but switched its target to the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) in 2014.

I might add I had the misfortune to have to train with some Turkish troops once upon a time. They were poorly trained, undisciplined, arrogant, and their personal hygiene was appalling. They were thugs in uniform. Admittedly this was a long time ago, but these peckerheads were a disgrace. They were just the type to murder unarmed civilians, something the Turkish military has excelled at since the early 1900s.

I think you are looking at old news.

"On Monday, about 50 U.S. special forces personnel were removed from zone of the Syria-Turkey border, according to a senior administration official. However, the move "is not the beginning of a formal pullout of Syria," the official added.

The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said pulling U.S. forces from the area was in no way "a green light" to a potential Turkish massacre of the Kurds. "We're protecting our troops," he said."

Sarah don't work for the gov no more, either!

Yep, this will save enough money to cover 1/10 of 1% of the budget deficit. You know, the last time Trump talked to Erdogan on the weekend, Trump announced that he was pulling ALL troops out of Syria......................all without consulting the Joint Chiefs or anyone else.

Perhaps we need to turn the phones off on the weekends.

Best to see what is actually done, not what is "reported" to have been said or what has been tweeted.

We have about 1000 in Syria doing the Vietnam "train'em" to fight for themselves, which really doesn't work very well. These 50 were considered to be in the crossfire and were moved for their protection. Trump has been saying he wanted and intends to pull out all of them since before he got elected.
