Thomas Jefferson
His portrait is on the $2.00 Dollar Bill.
Thomas Jefferson was a very remarkable man who started learning very early in life and never stopped.
At 5, began studying under his cousin's tutor.
At 9, he studied Latin, Greek, and French.
At 14, studied classical literature and additional languages.
At 16, entered the College of William and Mary.
He also could write in Greek with one hand, while writing the same in Latin with the other.
At 19, studied Law for 5 years starting under George Wythe.
At 23, started his own law practice.
At 25, he was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses.
At 31, wrote the widely circulated "Summary View of the Rights of British America," and retired from his law practice.
At 32, was a delegate to the Second Continental Congress.
At 33, wrote the Declaration of Independence.
At 33, took three years to revise Virginia's legal code and wrote a Public Education bill and a statute for Religious Freedom.
At 36, was elected the second Governor of Virginia, succeeding Patrick Henry.
At 40, served in Congress for two years.
No one servers two years today, it's more like two decades.
At 41, was the American minister to France and negotiated commercial treaties with European nations along with Ben Franklin and John Adams.
At 46, served as the first Secretary of State under George Washington.
At 53, served as Vice President and was elected President of the American Philosophical Society.
At 55, drafted the Kentucky Resolutions and became the active head of the Republican Party.
At 57, was elected the third president of the United States.
At 60, he obtained the Louisiana Purchase, doubling the nation's size.
At 61, he was elected to a second term as President.
At 65, he retired to Monticello.
At 80, helped President Monroe shape the Monroe Doctrine.
At 81, almost single-handedly, created the University of Virginia and served as its' first president.
At 83, died on the 50th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, along with John Adams.
Thomas Jefferson knew because he himself studied, the previous failed attempts at government. He understood actual history, the nature of God, His laws and the nature of man. That happens to be way more than what most understand today. What is missing today is History our schools fail us.
Jefferson really knew his stuff...
A voice from the past to lead us in the future:
John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the White House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement:
"This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House, with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe." -- Thomas Jefferson And that is a fact, the left is pushing
for more people to enter America, that will be our undoing.
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." -- Thomas Jefferson And that is what we are doing!
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its' own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on, would save one-half the wars of the world." -- Thomas Jefferson
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretense of taking care of them." -- Thomas Jefferson
Reread that, see the word Prevent!
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government." -- Thomas Jefferson AMEN
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson I hope.
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- Thomas Jefferson That is becoming a fact.
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson
"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes, the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical." -- Thomas Jefferson Like A******n!!
I wish we could get this out to every American!
I'm doing my part.
So please do your part.

Amazing what you can do without a smartphone
Yes a great man, do you know that he also wanted our public education to go all the way to the higher education levels, he was unable to get that past even back then, but it was the framework to public education that was later passed. I happen to agree with Jefferson, for the highest good of the country it is something we need to do. Other countries are doing it and it is the main reason why they are jumping ahead of us in leaps and bounds of us in world competition.

With a smartphone and three minutes you can learn that this 2008 chain email contains some Jefferson quotes and some that are half true and others that are pure lies. Here is a link to learn more.

Thanks once more for your thoughtful contribution to the national mayhem!
I've been there, thanks though, yeah smartphones are a good tool, but how it is mostly being used is debatable and to how much one's life is dependent on it. But point taken
I would say he was an impressive guy. He was a product of the European enlightenment, and wrote to many of the philosophs.
I have zero faith in anything from you. Evil lives inside you.

Not any more! Last night was a different story I ate an enormous wet burrito stuffed with Carnitas anchos and charro beans and I washed it down with mescal, neat and a couple of micheladas. Then I capped off the meal with fried ice cream and a sifter of El Presidente brandy. You were right then, at about 5 am the evil was living inside me, so I got out of bed went to the bathroom and took an enormous Trump, wiped and flushed and the evil inside me was gone! I just hope the stench dissipates before my wife needs to use the powder room.
There is a lesson in this for all Americans, consider it for a while and you will recognize it as 21st century wisdom of Aesop.

A great man said this phrase in Spanish: “Honrar, honra”. The t***slation of this two words would be: "Honor deserve who give honor to the one who deserve it".
Although I never agreed with Kennedy's decision to abandon the Cubans who landed in the Bay of Pigs; not giving them the support they had been promised and months later (as a result of that error), deliver Cuba to the USSR, another error which has placed an enemy of the USA at 90 miles of our coast during 60 years, putting the people of that country under a c*******t dictatorship (dictatorship that, being l*****t, it doubtless enjoys the sympathy of this individual who writes under the name Kevyn), I do agree with Kennedy in relation to his opinion on Jefferson.
It does not matter if what Jefferson said has been changed in something, if what has been attributed to him is in accordance with his thinking. I congratulate you for honoring Jefferson, who has his place in history, even though there are mental pygmies like this individual, who tries to minimize him, going against what you have published

I agree that schools don't teach enough history and government. I think they should have at least two years of summer school for more courses.
Perhaps you could point out his lies, I would like to know. That will show what you are.

I believe that Jefferson was a great President. Many of his ideas have proven to be wrong. Some have been made wrong by the passage of time.
