Genesis 28 chapter
Verse 1 - 5
Esau married two Hittite women who were daughters of Canaan. In Genesis 24:3, Abraham knew this was forbidden. Rebekah has Jacob travel to find wives from her brother’s children.
Verse 6 - 9
Esau finds out too late he shouldn’t have married Hittite women. So he married daughters of Ishmeal. This is going from frying pan to fire.
Verse 10 - 15
This is the dream of Jacob’s ladder. In it, Jacob sees a ladder that reaches to heaven. This is a bridge between heaven and earth. God renews his covenant with Jacob.
Verse 16 - 22
This is the stone of scone, on which kings of Western Europe were coronated.
