Throughou my life I have known many famous people. Some of the are the son of one Emperor of Japan and the brother of another Emperor, Nelson Rockefeller, Cary Grant and Donald Trump.
Ayn rand intrigued me most of all. She was born in Russia. The c*******ts confiscated thr family assets and business. They immigranted to the USA.
She became a consertave writer and lecturer. She is best known as the author of Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead.
When I was in law school a friend of mine told me that we were going to spend the weekend in the penthouse overlooked Central Park South.
We took the elvator to the top floor of the building and was met by the maid. My friend had not told me who was our hostess. The maid opened the door across from the elevator. When we walked into the enormous living room there eere fifty plus people facing the corner where our hostess was sitting.
When we walked in she asked my friend if he had told me that I was the speaker that night. I was sire that these people were wondering why , a college student, would be the speaker. She had explained that my father had been appointed as an attorney for the trial of the Japanese leaders of WW II. The German trials were for retribution for the millions of civilian people massacred by the Germans. The Japanese trial was set up to help them recocer from the devistating destruction and help them become a Democracy.
She added that my father drew what became their Constitution. She said that Ike had appointed him the chief non-governmental attoney during the Korean Peace accord. (It was not a peace treaty, but just an agreement to end the war. That is defination of "accord"
Before I started speaking she told the grop that I was probably the only person thry had ever met that had his picture taken in the cell with Tojo, who was "The Hitler of Japan". With that Nelson Rockefeller waled up to me asked how I was. He apologized because he could not remember if I were David or Dwight. He then explained that he and his brother had spent the week over 15 years ago at our home in Tokyo. He told him that my father was one of the most dedicated Americans during th rehabilitation of Japan example he gave that in the private sector he and two friends opened and supported three orphanages for GI babies. The mothers were Japanese and the fathers were GIs who left the country
Ayn Rand stated in her book that a person's happiness is their moral purpose, you owe nothing to others. John Galt Galt was the character in one of her bookd that personified that priciple. She asked if I had any comment. I stated that throughout her books I thought that she was that she was expounding "reason propelled mankind". Her reply was that very few people ever comprehended that. Her final comment my friend told that I would be able to give an eccellent answer to anything she asked and she said "Amen to that"

Lol, I read everything by Ayn Rand and enjoyed her spiel. Brilliant! Convinced me for a few days. Her view is, to me, deplorable. Nothing more venal and absurd.

Your comment was very interesting because you said you had read everything she wrote. You must be one of the small numbers of Americans who can read Russian.
I am impressed because she made you think and make your decision - even though I disagre with you.

The world is Yin and Yang. But the United States has become more l*****t Yang and we need to get back to homeostasis between the two. That is why Trump was elected after the disastrous eight years of Obama. We have a long way to go before people will live and let live.
