Farm Sales Are Down For The Long Haul...How About Subsidies, How Long Will They Last?

Actually there are a few pertinent aspects of subsidies that are relevant...

...they are actually benefiting the biggest farm corporations, not the smaller farmers. The small farmers are getting token amounts that are not helping them.
...they are being horribly poorly administrated
...farmers are being hit with other failures such as weather that affect crops
...storing unsold crops isn't working

How long will subsidies be kept up when sales are down for years if not decades? Somehow I can see Trump not being re elected and the problems he created will come home to roost as a democrat problem.

Personally I think subsidies should be geared for only the smaller farmers, they do not have the extra profit margins that are inherently built into large scale farming. Small scale farmers could be getting enough to make a difference while the larger ones will survive just fine without any. At least 80% of the subsidies are going to large farm corporations, cut those subsidies and gear a way smaller amount to the farmers that need it.

They will last twice as long as the trade wars with an enemy that we were financing our own destruction. But you don't have to explain We already know if it's good for America you will fight against it. That's what L*****t do.

Once upon a time in farm country, the subsidies did go to the small family farm..

that ended in the 80s with "freedom to farm" which among other thing made capital the most important tool of farming..

And made farming the great tax write off for the rich corporations.. with government as a side kick..

So tell us how much your grandfather gets, how many acres he farms, etc. It's irrelevant if he isn't affected by soy or corn sales to China. Small farmers affected

I have friends and family that farm all over the country, including Stockton corn and beets, rice in Williams, 1500 acres of corn and soy in Minnesota, 2500 acres in Kansas, a friend from the military in Georgia that has a several thousand acre family farm and hog operation, an uncle in Michigan who farms corn to feed hogs, my sister has almonds, peaches, and apricots in Winters ...

none of the farmers I know are affected much by chinese sales. As to being full of it...full of what? I am talking about a situation that is front of our faces, it's not f**e news, and there is no debating the validity of what I'm talking about.
