An old Air Force bud had a Red Cross card saying he had given 30 pints. But because I was station in Germany during the mad cow mess in the UK, I can no longer even give blood. There should be a blood test saying I either have it or not. I didn't eat much steak while there I preferred Jeager schnitzel (breaded pork steak with mushroom gravy).

So the precautionary measures included all of Europe? That must be a tough one for their emergency blood supplies, as one must assume that it also applies to all adults across the continent who were in Europe at the time. Or was it just a rule imposed on U.S. personnel?

Yes, it prevents me donated blood to the Red Cross and Jager schnitzel is delicious.
