Here are the facts. The president's action was protecting the US interest concerning trade relation that China had abused for years. And now even further abused by raising the tariff imported from the US to 30%.
To protect the US interest and adverse effects to our economy, the president raised the tariff imported from China to 15%. This is a smart move necessary to counter act the adverse effects of the Chinese trade imbalance with the US.
China has been abusing for years on our economy. Stealing our intellectual properties and abused trade imbalance with the US. No president had ever tried to fix it because perhaps they didn't understand how to fix it. But president Trump knows and found out that China has been abusive for 20 years, taking advantages of their trade imbalance. US loses at an average of $500 billion annually which prior president did not fix it.
Economy is in the adverse situation all over the world. Fact is US has a better position to recover, over China which is at a disadvantage with 1.4 billion people to feed, and with Hongkong in a retaliatory move against China.
