It seems everyone's a heretic

Since someone claimed John MacArthur was a heretic I did a search on the following - RC Sproul, Alistair Begg, Chuck Swindoll, Ravi Zacharias, Todd Friel, J. Vernon McGee, Steve Lawson, Tim Challies and numerous others. I could find claims for ALL of them being heretics.

There are more than a couple of sites that have an 'everybody is a heretic but me' kind of attitude. Some use that label like the left uses racist it seems.

According to Webster's 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language, a heretic is defined as: A person under any religion, but particularly the Christian, who holds…and avows religious opinions contrary to the doctrines of Scripture, the only rule of faith and practice.

John MacArthur teaches that one can take the mark of the beast and repent and later be saved. This is heretical because he avows a religious opinion that PLAINY contradicts what is written in Scripture, the only rule of faith and practice. Once a person takes the mark, their doom is sealed.

The point was not John MacArthur nor will I argue your claim.

John MacArthur's own words. You won't argue because you can't.

You may wonder why I'm so adamant about this? Because people's salvation lie in the balance.

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 2 Peter 2:1 (NASB)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires. 2 Timothy 4:3 (NASB)

Okay I will. Lol. Sure I can. The answer is you don’t know. He didn’t elaborate and thats not in any book or commentary I’ve read.

You’re adamant because you want to be right more than anything else.

I’ve seen people use those verses you just used to falsely accuse numerous pastors and apologists.

I saw how you answered Zemirah’s post on salvation. That wasn’t of the Spirit but was mean spirited. Why would you do that? I am not asking for an answer but it does say a lot.

You are QUITE wrong!

If you want to continue in your error, you are free to do so. But remember you will be responsible for what false teachings you teach.

Didn't I already tell you I am not a teacher and this is not something I promote? You've shown me how much attention to detail you have. You even excluded a bit from your definitions to tailor it to what you wanted. I have not found anywhere where MacArthur teaches this. He answered it in a Q&A. Its not in any commentary, book or sermon I've found.

If he were indeed a heretic then, as I said, that would manifest itself in multiple areas as it does with any heretic.

You are free to condemn whoever you wish. Many Christians do that and you're not the first.
