Genesis chapter 25

Verse 1 - 4

It has been three years since Sarah died. Abraham married Keturah.One of the children of Keturah was named Midian. The wife of Moses was the daughter of a Midianite priest.

Verse 5 - 11

Abraham died at 175. Jacob is 15 when Abraham died. Ishmael and Isaac bury their father in the land purchased from the sons of Heth.

Verse 12 - 18

Ishmael had twelve children and died at 137. His children took up the religion of Islam.

Verse 19 - 23

The time between God promising Abraham a child, and giving Abraham a child was 25 years. Isaac just asks God for a child. Rebecca gets pregnant with twins. Verse 24 - 28

Rebecca gives birth to the twins. Esau is the firstborn, but Jacob grabs his heel at birth. The elder shall serve the younger. Isaac was sixty years old when the twins were born. Abraham was still alive when Jacob and Esau were born. Rebecca loves Jacob, while Isaac loved Esau..Esau was a hunter,while Jacob dwelled in tents.

Verse 29 - 34

Esau had a bad hunt. He had been hunting for hours and caught nothing. Jacob is boiling some lentils. Esau is hungry. He asks for some lentils. Jacob says sell me your birthright. All Esau can think about is his hunger.He sells his birthright for a bowl of beans
