My friends and fellow colleagues from all sides of the political realm we have a very serious problem in America.

The problem is R****m, and in retrospect reverse R****m.

First let's establish a few rules for this debate.

1. Do not attack anyone personally. In this topic, and the reason I brought it up, is because I am disturbed at the way my fellow Americans are approaching this sensitive subject. You are free to attack the principles and thesis. But please do not attack anyone personally. Keep the status quo, and decorum of the OPP. I will also ask the administrator of this site to observe comments placed here and discipline members if their rhetoric becomes personal and take disciplinary action should the comments here be used against a member personally.

2. In keeping decorum, you are free to use as evidence to support your point as anything on the web. If needed use links to websites to show sources.

3. Keep this debate as a debate. We are learning from each other and trying, or at least I am trying to learn and mature even more to establish what r****m is, and what r****m is not. Please share your ideas do not attack anyone. Attack only the subject matter.

If we are agreed on the above then post, if you do not agree with the above please refrain from posting. In your first post please include, "I agree with these rules" or reply to this message.

Last Sunday Donald Trump tweeted this statement:

So interesting to see the "Progressive" Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can't leave fast enough. I'm sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements! Tweeted by Donald Trump, 7/12/2019

If that wasn't enough, Donald tweeted this later,

So sad to see the Democrats sticking up for people who speak so badly of our Country and who, in addition, h**e Israel with a true and unbridled passion. Whenever confronted, they call their adversaries, including Nancy Pelosi, "R****T". Their d********g language and many terrible things they say about the United States must not be allowed to go unchallenged. If the Democrat Party wants to continue to condone such disgraceful behavior, then we look even more forward to seeing you at the b****t box in 2020!

The following day he tweeted:
When will the Radical Left Congresswomen apologize to our Country, the people of Israel and even to the Office of the President for the foul language they have used, and the terrible things they have said. So many people are angry at them & their horrible & d********g actions.

If Democrats want to unite around the foul language & r****t hatred spewed from the mouths and actions of these very unpopular & unrepresentatives Congresswomen it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I can tell you that they have made Israel feel abandoned by the U.S.

Congress under the Democrat majority fought back. Nancy Pelosi also spoke for Resolution 489 condemning Donald Trump for R****t comments in the above tweets. The Republican minority fought back. Infact after Nancy's speech, the Republicans sought to "take down" Nancy's words because these words violated a long standing rule of the House of Representatives. The Democrats v**ed to keep Nancy's words and they were not taken down. Also they v**ed for the resolution and the resolution passed.

Now let's examine the question, "What is r****m?"

According to merriam-webster's dictionary, the definition of r****m is:
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2a : a doctrine or political program based on the assumption of r****m and designed to execute its principles
b : a political or social system founded on r****m
3 : racial prejudice or discrimination

I assume the backlash on the reaction of the tweets appear to satisfy the 3rd, definition of the term. However, where in the above tweets does Donald Trump tell the members that based upon thier race, "Go back to your country..."

I ask this question because honestly, I am confused.

Replace the word "R****m" with the words Capitalists and Socialists and it would seem to be a better description of Trump's prejudice of these Radical L*****ts.

1 : a belief that Capitalism over Socialism is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that Capitalism produces an inherent superiority of a particular people favoring Socialism

R****m is keeping count on how many people of each race you know or using the word to make up of your r****m and short comings.

Before you can discuss r****m, it is necessary to define the terms that such a debate will use. Race, for example, must be clearly defined.

The politically correct definition declares that there is only one race, the human race.

Most people who practice a religion will find that race is defined by their dogma.

People who understand the world in terms of evolution are forced to accept race as an early step on the road to speciation.

So, what is race?

The only answer that can satisfy all of the various opinions of just what is race, is that race is a set of characteristics that predominate among a group of creatures that sets them apart from others of a similar or same kind.

That being the case, the first definition given by MW is flawed because it implies that all differences must necessarily be disconsidered in comparing disparate groups. In fact, it implies that any comparison between groups is invalid if generalized.

The second pair of definitions is also invalid because you cannot use r****m as part of the definition of r****m. No word can be defined using that word in the definition.

That leaves the third definition and that brings us back once more to the definition of race/racial.

It is further complicated by the politically correct notion that generalization is not a valid means of understanding people. There is no way to consider race or r****m without generalizing and only the generalized statement can make a valid basis for this debate.

So in answer to the question you posed, what is r****m, the only answer can be that the term can be applied both as a pejorative and as a clinical descriptive term. That leaves us with the intent of the useage of any terminology tangent to race.

R****m must be a specific reference to a group characteristic. Whether that reference is offensive or not depends entirely on the intent of the speaker, not that of the hearer.

=================
1. President Trump is a patriot. By his actions, he vigorously supports his country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors.

He has proven that thru hard work and challenges he faces every day. We see results, and all people regardless of race, religion, or creed, have benefitted the outcome of his achievements. We could not deny that based on his performance, the economic conditions of 96.4% of the American people are sharing the rewards of his achievements. He loves this country and all people.

2. President Trump is a Nationalist.
He strongly identifies and vigorously supports the interests of our country, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations, and peoples’ behavior.

3. President Trump is a loyalist. He proves that by being loyal to the sovereign of our nation.

Reviewing all the statements he tweeted, I believe they don’t fall into any “racial” category, but rather his position was defining a wrong by someone who does not have any loyalty or patriotism to the country they are elected to serve. It hurt him.

I believe that people in every elected office must respect the country who gave them the opportunity to serve. But if they are there to denigrate, to say language that are offensive to the people she is supposed to serve, must meet certain disciplinary actions.

I believe that we all must respect the Executive Office, Congress, and the Supreme Court.

Much more so when people were elected to serve that position, they have to display their faith and loyalty to the country who gave them that opportunity.

Conclusion: No Racial discrimination.

Addendum:
These 4 freshmen democrats called the squad, have been using anti-Semitic language against Israel on a regular basis. Unless these are condemned at the House, it will get worst. They are the real r****ts.

This is one way how R****t is defined. Frequent and incessant demeaning attacks on a certain race and culture.

I believe that we are all somewhat r****t, we have come to "like" a group of individuals because you find comfort in being around them and you are reminded daily of their "goodness" so you search them out disregarding the others that are perfectly good or honest. But, to be truly r****t you must have a mind set that all individual who belong to your favorite group can not possibly do anything negative or reprehensible. And on the flip side, you may decide that a group is to be shunned because all people belonging to that race or nationality are simply bad. When this happens we loose sight there there are both good and evil people in every group. Bottom line, there are very few people living today that are genuinely r****t, 80 years ago I would not make this claim.

Honestly, calling a person a r****t has become a crutch for people who have a need to refocus blame or shame. Most individuals have become insensitive to name calling.... So, the shock value is gone. And I think that most white people have been called a r****t at one time or another.... we hear it and it just sounds like wah wah wah! It no longer makes anyone pause and examine what they do or say, it is business as usual.
