Bullit

Coos Bay Tom Loc: coos bay oregon

Me and the guys have been working out a ranch out in the county the past couple weeks. A pretty place--Cattle and timberlands as far as you can see. Cowhands moving cattle on Japanese Quarter Horses (4 -wheelers). The house is surrounded with every kind of flower you can imagine and there is two acres fenced in next to it. On that two acres lives about the sweetest lil Bull you could ever meet. He loves fruit and vegetables and likes a pat on the head. I started calling him Bullit and he took right to it. I was talking to the lady of the house about him and I told her I named him. She asked me what I named him and I told her "Bullit". I don't know who was more surprized when she told me that's real cool because that is what his name is. Bullit is on the small side and I thought he was an odd looking Dexter. Turns out he is a runt who barely made it. He looks like a 10 month old calf but he is a 2 year old White face Bull. . Guess his poor mother died bringing him into the world and he never got that first suck that is all important to a calf. He is a pet now who will live to old age. Good ol' Bullit as far as cows go he is pretty cool.

The house has quite a history. It was floated 20 miles down the Coos river and up the Lillian slough to its present location in 1920. Its Gotta be a lot older than that.

Yep politics suck. There is a farmer here that hauls crab shells and shrimp hulls out to his fields from the fish plants here. As you can imagine you do not want to be stuck behind this guy. He has a sign on the truck that reads "The only thing that stinks worse is politics"
