Calling A Spade A Spade...When Is That R****t, When Is It Not R****t?

That is a term I used for years, I'd say "I'm just calling a spade a spade", and it meant this is what it is. Growing up my dad was one of the most r****t bigots I've ever known, he got it from his father who was a bigot that truly h**ed b****s. My dad had a difficult time with me having a black friend growing up. My dad's favorite alternate labels for b****s besides the commonly used word n****r was spade, coon, boon, and jigaboo. My mom refused to hear the N word and rebuked him for it every time she heard it.

When the term spade is used in a way that has nothing to do with a black person chances are the person using it is not thinking about a black person as the reference. Most people can easily understand when the term spade is used in reference to a black person, only obtuse i***ts say things like "that isn't what I meant", it's exactly what was meant when the reference is what it's about.

My point here is that a r****t knows exactly what a r****t is, they don't like b****s or other races of people.

That is an easy question to answer from the progressive standpoint. If a conservative says it, it has to be r****t, if a progressive socialist says it, it is just a joke.

Back in the early 50s, in north east Ohio, black was the insult, n****r was the vernacular, and colored was the formal.

Wow! What a way to throw in the ol' "Some of my best friends are black" snip. Hmmm, it's been my experience that those who say such things are the biggest r****ts there are.

I was in third grade when bussing started, and had no clue what was going on, but the black kid who was seated beside me in class quickly became my friend. He was just another kid to me. Many of the others were mean, h**eful, and angry, and h**ed all w****s.
I fought my share of them as others did because of their attitudes, not their skin.

And, by Jr. High, we figured out that you couldn't piss the militant ones off by calling them n****r, or anything else, but the term "bus student" would send fur flying every time.

You are so full of it. The quip was about every r****t I've ever called on it says "some of my best friends are black"... and yes, every r****t I've known except the ones that proudly admit it says that.

Too funny how wrong you are, my hair is about eight inches long in the back, people comment that I have way too much hair for a 63 year old. I'm getting it cut soon, every year or so. No bald spots to the front, a bit thin on the top/back... nice try though

My bad. Just an assumption on my part, considering how much you run around with your hair on fire over a now meaningless word.

You folks have over played the race card, and it's tiresome, old, and meaningless. This is 2019, not 1950. Get over it, and go make me a sammich since you seem to be more woman than my own wife!

My home town in Oregon had signs down town that said "colored Rooms--"colored lounge" B****s were not allowed in public swimming pools and some neighborhoods had Green River ordinance enforced here signs. There were towns in Eastern Oregon that had signs saying if your ass is black do not be here at sundown. I never understood it. I knew very few B****s growing up. The ones I did know had White accents and were rednecks like the rest of us.

I love O.P.P. and other sites because my brain can engage your brain, and I DON'T KNOW what color you are...or a lot of other traits.
Thanks ,all ,for reminding me of Sheriff Justice meeting the other cop,a black man, and the bigoted Buford T. says "You sounded much TALLER on the radio..."
Smokey and the Bandit...just plain fun.

I think that a few people here on OPP pose as other than they are. One poses as a minimally literate black man, but I think that he or she or xhe is someone quite different.

Being one of the few non r****ts on OPP must be of great comfort.
