Negative CBO Report On The Outcomes Of The Federal Minimum Wage

This is how it works, the CBO needs to assess the negative and positive impacts of important game changing legislation before v****g on them. The negative impacts here should change the minds of even those who support the ideas. Giving this legislation the necessary time to assess the negative impacts will likely change enough democrat minds to get no v**es. There are other ways to affect income disparity than a minimum wage increase, and good assessments like this are needed before proceeding.

Tax legislation was jammed through without the time needed to have the CBO do a report on the impacts of a tax cut, when the CBO quantifies the real cost that should be part of the decision making process. The GOP could not have pushed tax cuts through if they allowed time to assess the benefits versus the true cost.

This isn’t a news story it is a propaganda piece by a former Pepsi executive who is a mouthpiece for The Job Creators Network, an extreme right wing advocacy group. It was founded by Bernie Marcus, the co-founder and former CEO of Home Depot. The organization has received significant funding from the Mercer Family Foundation, a private grant-making foundation that invested about $70 million into conservative causes between 2009 and 2014.

Did you even read this report? I believe if you had done so, you wouldn't have made such a false statement. As for what I read, it didn't say anything about tax legislation.

That was my comment on the value of CBO reports before jamming through stupid and ill concieved tax cuts cobbled together with changes at the last minute.

This was unfavorable news for liberals who support minimum wage increases.

Are you saying there was no CBO report, that this was fabricated?

There has been some coverage about the negative impacts of minimum wage increases. Minimum wage jobs aren't supposed to support families, what we need is an increase for mid level employees.

For those lacking the intellect to understand, yes, the article had NOTHING to do with the tax cuts Trump and his cronies pushed through, this is true. What the poster was trying to point out was that just like the minimum wage issue was put to the CBO to try to determine the outcome, so too should the tax cut have been put to the CBO to try to determine the outcome. Please do try to think BEFORE you post.

The link was not to the CBO report which showed both cost and benefit of a living wage, the link was to a warped summery of the report by a propagandist.

We all know congressmen never even read what they sign and only do what the party tells them to do. Otherwise they might have to do some real work that they get overpaid not to do.
