So the citizenship question on the census form really wasn't necessary was it?

After all of the silly ranting and hyperbolic rhetoric from the usual rightwingnuts, trump declared that the citizenship question really wasn't necessary after all, and that 90% on the information on PEOPLE in the country is already available.

So if that is true, then all of the usual rightwing blather about "millions and millions" of i******s living in the country can easily be proven or disproved.

A very good chance that trump and barr will look like fools

Let me see if I understand you and your position. Why do you think a census is taken? Do you think the census will make a difference in representation of US citizens? Do you think that our laws and the way our tax monies are spent should be determined by non-citizens? Are you okay with the number of schools being built in your area or state? How about the number of emergency response teams? Hospitals? Senior health care facilities? How about supermarkets in your area? All this depends on accurate census data.

It is true, there are other avenues to find out how many people are residing in a community that are i******s (either crossing into the US at a non-entry point or having overstayed a visa) the more efficient way of gathering this data would have been through the census. However, using other means will allow the government to allot fundings for states (for such things as infrastructure, medical support, emergency responses and so forth). So, if your state does not receive increases in funds.... it is probably because a complete count of all the people in your state was not made. Regardless, neither side should gain a value in new i******s v**ers..... but, that remains to be seen.

It is apparent that many have not given this problem thought beyond giving a black eye to the President. So, later on when your forest is on fire and there are not enough firefighters... or your child has a medical emergency and the nearest hospital is 90 miles away (funding cuts closes facilities) and your child dies.... or a law is passed that says you can not complain about a religious system, and you are fined.... Please do not blame the President...... look in the mirror to see who was shortsighted.

Most of the left-wing nuts on here and other places have only one thing in mind - giving a black eye to the President. If Trump is for it they are against it and if Trump is against it they are for it. That seems to be the way they form their opinions. Sad.

Plus they are against anything that might hamper their c***ting in a quest for complete control which would doom America.

It is very sad and speaks loudly about the overall decline in IQs..... In 1975 the IQ test was changed..... so everyone could be called "gifted." A strange trend developed: average score for 16 to 17-year-olds is 108, which denotes “normal or average intelligence.” 18 and 19 years of age, the average IQ score is 105, which also denotes “normal or average intelligence.” The average score for people between 20 and 24 years of age is 99, which also denotes “normal or average intelligence.” For people between 24 and 34 years of age, the average score is slightly lower at 97, which still denotes “normal or average intelligence.” The average score for people between 35 and 44 years old is estimated to be 101, still within the “normal or average intelligence” scale. People between the ages of 45 and 54, the average IQ score goes up to 106 within the “normal or average intelligence” scale. But the highest average score for people under 64 is attained by those people between the ages of 55 and 64, which gets to 109 in the IQ scale, just about falling short of being classed as having a “superior intelligence” or “above average” intelligence and remaining firmly within the limits of a “normal or average intelligence” like all the other age groups.

And here is the "kicker..." People between 65 and 69 have an average IQ score of 114, which puts them in the “superior intelligence” or “above average” end of the scale. But people between 70 and 74 who are tested for IQ get an even higher average score of 119, which puts them a mere 1 point short of getting into the “gifted” category, which means that they are still firmly within the “above average” or “superior intelligence” group together with their younger 65-69 years old counterparts.

So.... here is my thoughts..... the Conservative Party, according to our youthful Liberals, are primarily older white people. Perhaps, based on intelligence, they may want to pay more attention to what we think and say, they might even learn something. A little more thought beyond "proving" our President wrong is definitely in order!

Seems you have no understanding what the census is for. Did you fail history 101?

He would have had to take it to fail it.

I am glad..... getting old is a journey that many people take for granted. Each day that I wake, I find life gets more interesting when you take time to really pay attention. My Poppa, whom I loved dearly, shared that philosophy with me when I was 8.... and he was right!

I've always wondered how they knew how many i******s there were....................but didn't know WHERE they were. How does that work? From 2008 through 2014, there were exactly 11 million i******s here, at least, according to all the GOP candidates running in those years. I thought CBP and ICE were doing a bang up job...........................by keeping the i******s capped at 11 million for 6 years in a row.

Actually there are tens of millions...somewhere between twenty or thirty million, maybe more

The problem with the census question is that the census is about how many people live here, not how many people are citizens. The true reason for the citizenship question is to intentionally under count the number of people living here.

Please trying to explain to undereducated, un-informed trump and his supporters, the purpose of the census is to count PEOPLE, not only CITIZENS.

The founders used the citizen 28 times in the constitution, so they what the word was, but in the explicit duties of the census, they used the word PEOPLE.

And I agree with many rightwingers, the founders were far smarter than trump, silly congressional republicans, hannutty, limblah and most trump supporters
