"For 17 of my 32 years working I taught public school", that wasn't top say he is only 32 years old, he has WORKED for 32 years, of that, 17 in public school. Try reading ALL the words.

The original poster of this topic, David Seaman, simply worded his original post poorly. As a teacher he should know better than to post a confusingly worded post.
But worse yet, he equates carrying a lesson plan, iPhone, or baton as a public school teacher with a serviceman carrying a rifle.
He’s delusional! There’s no comparison.
As a teacher he’s free to walk away for wh**ever reason. The serviceman enjoys no such freedom even if his life in in immediate danger. Walking away can be punishable by death.
Mr Seaman is your typical lefty lib who thinks that based on his choices, he’s on solid footing.
He’s just another proprietor of the “Good Intentions Paving Company”, destined to go through life seeing life through the warped lenses of liberalism.

For those with a decent understanding of the English language, there is nothing confusing in his post. For those not so proficient in English, they need not try to critique his grammar nor should they attempt to discredit facts that they can not understand due to the lack of proficiency in the English language.

Socialism is a necessary step to C*******m. Federal Government has done nothing for schools. One of the goals of C*******m is to take over the schools using design and the ignorance of teachers. It should have been turned over to the states as our founders intended it to be. These people can't run their mouth or budget so they sure can't run the education The Federal Reserve banksters donate out of their cold stone hearts our text books and they also decide who wrights them. So if I had kids in school I sure the Hell be reading them. Except democRats that are clueless on the documents that founded our nation and more than likely can't read. above a three letter word.

My kind of life. Why should I be deprived because there are deprived?

Socialism comes in many names, but it separates the rich and the poor at the quickest pace of any philosophy.

Bernie wants to rape hard working Americans on behalf of i*****l a***ns...it doesn't go backwards economically any faster than that.

It's not just the rich who those socialist bastards want to fleece, it will hurt the poor working class the most.

All forms of socialism are for government control....of everything!!

We are too stupid to know what is good for us. Government knows best. I've always loved waiting in line only to find out there is no bread when I finally get there. Government knows when to feed me.

Every new government program will oppress someone, somewhere.

Here is something that has always annoyed me to no end. People come here to our country, because they want what we as a country have.. then they turn around and try to tell us how badly we are doing, and we should do it like this... Why do people leave their country for what ever reason, only to try to change this country into what they just left...

It doesn't even have to be an immigrant. The whacked out l*****ts from Mexifornia abandon their former paradise because of terrible taxes and then what do they do when they get to Arizona. That's right, they try to implement the same socialist policies that led to the demise of the their American Dream in California. Why don't they 'chill' and try our version of society for a while before they try to turn Arizona into a lower taxed People's Worker's Paradise? We loved what we had here before we were invaded by Mexifornia's refugees.

Well, do you know what socialism is? I mean really: I’m interested in hearing what you fear or like about it. Public Schools are good, right? Public Works- road maintenance, parks, electric. And public service like police and fire, courts, tax assessors- all of it to support We The People. And the places that privatized public services screwed us. The Prison system is the perfect example.
But we *are* a socialist country. The root word, social, refers to Society. We are tribal people. We do not do well on our own- isolated. And the US hasn’t fought an honest war since 1945. I have so many younger friends who enlisted and served tour after tour in Afghanistan and Iraq. Some died there, others died after they returned. What does the Middle East War (2003 -present) have to do with our way of life? What were my friends fighting for?
I seriously welcome the opportunity to learn from you; to share our ideas.
Let’s start with “socialist.” For 17 of my 32 years working I taught public school. I served the public. I’ve been in the trenches of service to my country. Instead of a rifle I carried a baton, lesson plans, and an iPod. But service just the same.
Are services that benefit the whole society a bad thing or a good thing and how are we defining “social”?

Thanks for your service via teaching--a well-underpaid profession especially relative to its importance to society.

After moving from Calif. to Oregon..I was greatly surprised and hurt after finding out how badly Oregonians h**ed Californians.

In my whole family, we never h**ed anyone because of what part of the United States they hailed from.

But what was a bigger disappointment, and more to the point.

As soon as California legislators pass some asinine "suppression of the people" bill.

Oregon, like a little child, follows the lead of Californians who they h**e.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

I would not thank anyone for teaching in the public schools.
