His not being a politician is, indeed, a big one which has turned a lot of "conservatives" against him as well. And yet he continues on. How, I don't know!

This poll from early June 2019 in France shows Macron at 30% Favorable vs. Trump at 19%. Trump is highly supported by people that are s**k of open borders and Macron putting other EU countries before France. Also the Yellow jackets that want better gasoline prices and more LPG to be bought from America. France's big cities tend to support Macron because of their easy access to socialists freebies.

But more importantly, Macron is only at 30% favorable, so there are a lot of French standing on the sidelines, waiting to see what happens. However, the over riding reason EU does not like Trump is simply, they will be loosing the free ride dollars from American citizens with the trade imbalance changes.

I couldn't honestly care less what the French think of our President. It's none of their business who we have for a leader. I wonder what they'd say if there was an American poll showing negative approvals of M. Macron. No doubt they'd agree and move on...

I wonder if the question is not about Trump popularity but rather about how well the states are doing under Trump' would that make a difference? It's one thing to dislike a guy because he's an A-hole, but it's another to like what he actually does.

We give about 60 B dollars a year to France in trade disparities. That is income to France and the government uses it to be socialists and provide a lot of freebies to the French citizens. We give away about one trillion dollars annually in trade imbalances to the world. Trump is working hard to bring that back. For example he has gotten about 200 billion from China so far.

That money goes into our treasury and could help do a lot of different things. Infrastructure fixes, pay down debt, health care support, education fixes, and maybe even lower taxes... etc.

The people in France that support Trump or very self sufficient, hard working and more frugal in their spending habits. They also sku heavily to more rural areas.

As far as we are concerned, we should be very supportive of getting a balanced trade in place world wide. However, the countries that are used to getting free money from us are not that happy in the short term.
History has proven that more balanced trade spurs competition, quality, productivity, innovation and more likelihood of developing stronger trade partnerships world wide.....and PEACE.

That last word, PEACE! That's where the problems start. Without endless wars and the subsequent government spending on them, there would be no need for many, many government functions, and that just will not do. No, we must be perpetually at war, keeping the populace afraid and malleable, thus keeping the politicians at the center of the universe, where they live the life of Riley while we peons pay for it through myriad taxes and the scourge of currency inflation.

A world at peace would thrive like none other, and that is definitely not in the grand scheme of things.

The French have always been there when they needed us.
Trump took Europe off the allowance we've been giving them for 70 years, and like spoiled kids, they are throwing a tantrum. Now they have to defend themselves! How cruel!

Trump wants peace. If you did not see "The Warriors" show on Fox last night, you would enjoy I think and also see at end what the "Lone Survivors" brother says. Greg guides 4 war vets thru a bunch of topics. It will probably show up on You Tube or be a rerun.

That English ambassador stepped in it and then tasted it to make sure it was s**t. And with all the help Britain gave to the FBI and DOJ and CIA and State Department and the Obama administration to stymie Trump and then try to remove Trump from office, Trump just might bomb Londonistan. He'll save the queen. I'd be all for it.

The best bet is to drive the wingnuts out of government like we did in California in 2010. No more gridlock. no more arguments , no more fighting, no more Mitch McConnell's to stumble over. Life is good
