A past speech on the floor of our US Congressional... (show quote)

Journalism is supposed to inform. When something is reported, those who do it must subject themselves to the facts and not to their particular opinion. I think that the persons should read the information and reach their own conclusions.
In totalitarian countries, where the media is controlled, information is given according to the convenience of the totalitarian regime that exercises control.
Taking as an example the totalitarian regime prevailing in Cuba, when Ernesto "Che" Guevara was captured in Bolivia (*) by the Bolivian soldiers, after having killed a few of them in ambushes, being later executed by superior orders, the Castro press described the event as a murder.
This individual was not "murdered", he was "executed". Of course for those who suffered the loss of a relative whom this individual had taken to the firing squad, without trial, at the prison of La Cabaña in Cuba or for the relatives of the Bolivian soldiers that he killed, the fact was not a “murder” but "to do justice” executing a serial killer.
In the case that concerns us, the press should report the fact and then could establish impartially who this person was and why he was in Bolivia.
Currently the media tend to be partial, obeying the criterion of who dominates each medium in particular and with that, it gets on par with the totalitarian press; and therefore, it is necessary and correct, for those who are attacked to defend themselves against what the media reports; with the difference, that in our society defense is allowed and in a totalitarian society it is not.
(*) Country in which he was a foreigner and to which he went as an invader to impose an ideology.
