Talk of impeachment is just that -- Talk

So much talk about impeaching Obama, which would be the only to avoid his eventual permanent control of the executive branch sounds so good to many of us but no action will come. Two things needed to do such a thing would be the removal of John Boehner from the Speakership and the take over of the Senate by the GOP in 2014. Does this show you why he is working so hard to discredit all GOP candidates so early? He knows he has to keep the Senate in the hands of Harry Reid and Dick Durbin or he may well be the really historical item he wants to be in that he could well become the first President to be impeached by the House and kicked out by the Senate. Maybe he can get his civilian army armed well enough by 2015 to be able to keep the Congress from doing that one really important duty.

While it takes both the House and the Senate to actually impeach. Wouldn't it be grand if the house would at least file for the record, the articles of impeachment. That would definitely get the Liberal's Knickers Twisted.

That may work but why bother unless the Senate becomes GOP controlled in 2014. Dirty Harry won't even allow so many bills from the HOuse to be brought to the floor and surely he wouldn't allow impeachment proceedings to be discussed there.

True enough, but when those that come after us look back. I would like for there to be some record that we (conservatives/Republicans) at least made the attempt to stop the madness. And that Democrats would not follow through and blindly sold this country down the tubes. I think it should be in the congressional record, and why it failed.

I can't disagree with what you say. For instance, I was against impeaching Clinton so near his end but it has been done and unless only progressives write the coming history of the US they will always know it happened. I was sure the Senate back then wouldn't carry through for that very reason, though.

As for Obama, that may be something that would drive him over the edge and we need that pretty bad.
