You guys only seem to know the cute side of squirrels. They really are quite vicious little aminals. When I have them in the live trap, they chew on the cage with those awesome choppers. Go ahead, put a finger in there if you want to lose it.

I have no proof, but I suspect that they raid bird nests for the babies and the eggs. Out west I have read of the females cannibalizing each other's babies, and in the east the males are known to eat babies to bring the females back into estrus.

So next time cute Mr. Squirrel looks at you with those baby brown eyes, do not fall for it. He likely just ate a baby bird or his little nephew.

I prefer giving voluntarily to those who really need help. And I do that both nationwide and worldwide including Africa, and Asia. That is where I use my brain to share what I have to those who need most. Does that sound ignorance to you? Does that sound needing medical attention? I am a CPA, been an accountant and auditor, retired few years ago. I worked for almost 40 years. I am giving away my money to those who need most. Squirrels are forgetful. I know for years they love peanuts. I throw peanuts at the backyard. Squirrels gather and bury them all over. But they could not track the nuts when needed. There are bunch of growing nuts in the backyard. The squirrels did not find them. When I open the door at the back Squirrels, come running towards me. The two of them. I think the Mama and Papa. I enjoy them, oh, I think they are so cute.

I haven't seen Scruffy of the Red Eyes today, but workman were here replacing windows, then it rained most of the afternoon.

Even the cat is still hiding under my bed upstairs.

They are tree rats to me. I watch them scare the birds away from my feeder. One year in the rain I watched one climb a corn stalk and eat my best ear of sweet corn. And then he didn't even finish it, before moving on to the next ear. If it was not for the fact that I h**e skinning them, I could eat really well all year if I wanted to. Then you have the baby rabbits. This year I have seen more than ever. They hardly ever cause a problem.

The baby rabbits are most gentle and beautiful. I have 5 babies last year under the flower bed. They were light greyish and white. The Mama rabbit ate grass at the backyard. I shredded carrots but did not eat.

We have such a mild summer this year.
Last week I saw a cat at the back with rabbit wiggling from the cat's mouth. I got a wooden stick to scare, the cat seemed willing to fight, but later on dropped the rabbit and run away. I tried to nurse the badly hurt rabbit. Did not make it. Died about half an hour. I dug a whole at the back put the rabbit, with flowers and cried a little bit. It was a sad day for me. I love nature. I feel closer to God.
