Now church becomes venue for 'd**g q***n'

Libraries around the country in recent years have come under harsh criticism for abandoning their objective to serve the community by staging “d**g q***n” events.

One of the first to draw attention was held in 2017 at the Michelle Obama public library in Long Beach, California.

Now the libraries have competition.

With a church.

Cincinnati.com reports d**g q***n Sparkle Leigh brought an “L**T storytime” to the Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati.

Dan Davidson, a custodian, recently spent hours applying makeup and glitter to become Sparkle and read a story to children.

The service, the report said, featured “God welcomes all” by the choir. Then Sparkle came out to read to the “youngest disciples” while wearing a flowing pink drew and green curls.

The story Sparkle chose was about Harvey Milk, an openly homosexual politician who died years ago.

Milk was accused in biographies of preying on young boys, and he was a huge supporter of Jim Jones, who took nearly 1,000 people to Jonestown, where they all died in a mass cyanide murder-suicide.

“While Sparkle’s story was directed toward children sitting at the speaker’s feet, some teenagers also joined them in the front, and the whole congregation, young and old, clapped at the exciting parts of the tale,” the report said.

The event was part of the church’s celebration of “P***e Month,” which promotes homosexuality.

Cincinnnati.com reported Stacey Midge, the pastor, said the story fits her belief that “God loves everyone.”

Jeff Johnston, an issues analyst for Focus on the Family, told Cincinnati.com that Christians teach love and respect for everyone, but they also recognized the difference between males and females.

“[Children] are easily taught, and we want to bring them into a healthy view of what it means to be a boy or a girl and help them embrace that,” Johnston said.

Davidson had performed as a d**g q***n in Seattle but left. He said he was attracted to story times.

“I’m excited just to be able to point to diversity and help kids not be afraid of people that are different but to embrace them and be able to learn from them and find out more about them,” Davidson said.

WND reported earlier this month on another d**g q***n event in Ohio.

A library canceled a d**g-queen training session for teenage boys after being called out by the speaker of the state House of Representatives for the “stunningly bizarre” plan.

The Washington Examiner reported the public library in Licking County dropped the event after House Speaker Larry Householder, a Republican, wrote the Ohio Library Council.

Aimed at teenagers, it featured “a tutorial on applying makeup for dressing d**g and a guide to safe sex.”

Such events are becoming more common, even moving into small towns such as Beloit, Wisconsin, after establishing a beachhead in left-wing enclaves such as Long Beach and St. Paul.

A public library in Houston hired a convicted child-sex offender to read books to children. Houston Public Library officials didn’t apologize for hosting D**g Q***n Storytime, but they did “deeply regret” failing to conduct a background check.

Householder told the council he fully supports freedom of speech, the First Amendment and libraries.

But he said when he first heard of the training session he thought it was a joke.

“The joke is apparently on the taxpayers, who fund our libraries. This is a stunningly bizarre breach of the public trust. And it must stop.”

He pointed out taxpayers in the state pay about $400 million a year to support libraries.

“Let me be crystal clear: this isn’t about banning books or banning thought or any other red herring argument. This is about right and wrong. This is about being good stewards of the public’s money,” his letter said.

He continued: “I can also assure you the taxpayers aren’t interested in seeing their hard-earned dollars being used to teach teenage boys how to become d**g q***ns.”
