Hi, I'm She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO)my husband No Propaganda Please (NPP) and I live in the woods in West Virginia, have 4 dogs, soon to be 5 . NPP and I work with abused kids, and I also run training classes to help people train their dogs to be well behaved. Two of our dogs are Cane Corso Mastiffs, one dog is a Welsh Terrier and the newest is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the new dog will be another Cane Corso, another 140 pound one probably. all four are service therapy dogs, to help the boys we work with learn to trust and love people again.

Welcome FelixMorgan! If you like raised blood pressure along with your information/entertainment, this is the place. All good folks, even the ones that will disagree with you. As others have said, if you get a little amped up, stop for a few minutes, rethink your response and fire away. I won't lie, the discussions at times devolve into schoolyard "did too...did not...did too" levels, but they soar to great heights as well (Memorial Day comes to mind). But I think the thing that keeps most people here is that steel sharpens steel. We enjoy being challenged, and it helps us hone our opinions. And by all means, don't ignore the non-political section, where music, art, memes, and humor are a staple. Some days, that's the best place to start. Looking forward to hearing your take on things.

I occasionally listen to Rush, but don’t spend much time with the radio on.

And try not to get to serious about any issues... Lots of opinions here

I can't imagine life without coffee. It takes me several cups in the morning just to get my heart started.
BTW, welcome to OPP.

I used to drink lots of coffee too, and for the same reason as you. However now, I seem to have an over-active bladder. The information I found suggests not to drink coffee or caffeinated soda. However today, I was a bad boy. I had a Coke (cold caffeine) for lunch and then a cup of DeCafe coffee with supper.

NPP and SWMBO are very fine people by any measure. I feel proud to know them, even though we have never met.

Now I can get self-righteous, because I don't drink sodas. I have a very expensive highly insulated one quart cup that stays full of hot coffee most of the time. It's almost my trademark.

Welcome Felix, glad to have another Christian onboard, and a conservative.
We get in some pretty heated discussions on here. Keep some thick skin on some, and you will be fine.

I posted this response to Kevyn a couple of days ago when he stated that I knew nothing about anything, although he used different words.

My response to Kevyn is here
Do you know how to artificially inseminate a dairy cow, dock tails on two day old puppies, turn a baby goat around in delivery so it can be born in one piece? Can you train a therapy dog so that it can know when a frightened child needs to hug it and walk into the room where the child is and lie down and snuggle with the child it has just met? Can you train a dog to know which of 5 dumbells is the one the owner touched and pick up just that dumbell and bring it back to the owner? Can you work with a frightened 12 year old who has tried to slit his wrists, calm him down, and comfort him, knowing that it will be probably two years before he stops wishing he could k**l himself? Can you celebrate the artwork of that child three years later and know that he is going to make it after all? I can, and have done all those things, so being computer illiterate is just not that important in my mind. We all have priorities, I am comfortable with mine.

You of course are much kinder to Kevyn then everybody else here on OPP who just wish that he would go away like bad bob apparently did. He is just a nuisance and I don't even take the time to read his posts anymore. I can see how your boys love and respect you and NPP. Take care and may God bless.

I posted this reply to Kevyn when he implied that I knew nothing about anything that is important. He can not understand that a woman whose father was a country vet back when vets often got paid in chicken eggs and pork chops will have a different outlook on life, having been there to help new life into the world and ease the passage of animals that are incurably suffering. Nor has he listened to the fears of boys whose life as been hell and so do not believe they are worth loving.
